I have been thinking about running for years but not sure I could un-seat Tom Posma, He's been on there for years and a lot of people know him. When I ran for MCE School board I only got 43-ish votes and the winner had 113-ish I think, but not sure how I would do in a bigger setting. I would have to do a lot of door knocking and advertising. But it may be an interesting task to attempt. I have never had much luck in popularity contests though.  I know alot of people from work and they like me and come back for repeat business I am not sure how that would translate into a board seat.

All ten county commissioner spots are open every two even numbered years.  If you don't know the dimensions of your district, I can link you to the county map that has those.

A lot of politics is a popularity contest, but if you research issues and can successfully contrast yourself favorably to Tom Posma, you could still win.  Posma's a good guy, but he is part of the problem in this county, IMHO.

Remember that most successful politicians have suffered a loss here and there, and so you've already paid your dues!

please link the district map. I searched www.masoncounty.net under the 'county board' section and surprisingly couldn't find a map.

You were in the right area!  You would have been at the right gateway page  Mason Co-County Board

But look, it is hidden at the bottom of the page where it says "Map of Mason County Districts.pdf"  Here it is for all to see.  District Six is pretty straightforward, three townships minus the City of Scottville inside Custer Township.
