How Science Can Help You Find a 4-Leaf Clover

As legend it has it, finding a four-leaf clover is supposed to be a sign of good luck. If we put our collective scientific knowledge to the task, however, we stand a better chance of finding a lucky charm. Scientific American editor Eric R. Olson explains.

Very interesting but the best way I know how to find a 4 leaf clover is not by counting leaves but by looking for the square that is formed in the center of the leaves by the white streaks on the leaves. There are small white triangle on each leaf which forms a large triangle on a 3 leaf clover but on a 4 leaf clover the triangles form a square.
