SS City Of Midland 41 Docking in Kewaunee

Title says it all! Video by: Ted Knack. This carferry is now the barge that carries freight out of Ludington and to Ludington mostly. The tug pushes from astern.

That's true enough Willy. But, the other alternative, is what we saw with most of the rest of the local carferrys, they got scrapped all the way out. If anyone is interested, Kewaunee had a local tug for sale, her name is the Ludington, dates back to circa 1930's. She was for sale for $99k last I knew, after being refurbished top to bottom. If would make for a nice replacement for the old tug Annie, or just be a tour boat for PM Lake. This video is probably dated early 1980's, when the Kewaunee run was still going.

Sad to know that only 1/2 of the ship survives. Thanks for posting Aquaman

The car horns towards the end signify the crowds that welcome the ship back from another safe voyage across the lake. The ship's Whistle, blown with a long, then short blast, signify she is safely docked, and ready for disembarking of cars and people.
