If you haven't had the opportunity to drive into Ludington the last few days, you may have missed Ryan 'Logik' Roberts and a growing number of people protesting out in front of the courthouse.  National media hasn't missed what's happening nor have they missed why he is there, as is related in an article from the Gateway Pundit and 100% Fed Up.

The backstory happened in that same Mason County Courthouse, where Magistrate Glenn Jackson III committed what has to have been the biggest mistake in his career.  A very habitual, violent offender named Isaiah Gardenhire with a host of felonies in his career was brought before him with CSC 2nd degree charges.  Jackson decided properly that Gardenhire should not be released on personal recognizance, but was given a bond of $7500 at 10%, and was able to get out with $750 and go on a new crime spree where a child was killed and multiple people were assaulted.

There has been no explanation why Jackson set such a low bond and gave Gardenhire the 10% option.  10% bonds started in Michigan in 1978 and was designed to be used for non-violent, first time offenders.  Magistrate Jackson has had plenty of time to explain the low bond amount and why the 10% option was offered; he has decided to hide behind plexiglass, a mask, and some unexplained special privilege that he believes keeps him unaccountable to the public.

In actuality, the law says he has a duty to divulge reasons behind his bonding decisions, MCL 756.6 says:

The amount of bail shall not be excessive. The court in fixing the amount of the bail shall consider and make findings on the record as to each of the following:
  (a) The seriousness of the offense charged.
  (b) The protection of the public.
  (c) The previous criminal record and the dangerousness of the person accused.
  (d) The probability or improbability of the person accused appearing at the trial of the cause.
Having asked and reviewed the court records pertaining the CSC case, none of these concerns were apparent in the bail determination for Gardenhire, nor was Magistrate Jackson volunteering this information.  He was actually denying that information to Logik Roberts in an interview Roberts recorded.  Jackson needs to come clean on his mistake or surrender his position of trust immediately.  The Gateway Pundit article follows, some parts edited for fit.

Thanks for putting this information together. I would probably title this as “ a magistrates cover up of his reckless endangerment of the public”. The magistrate aided and abetted criminal activity by releasing a dangerous person back on the street and he needs to be held accountable. This was no “whoops, sorry l made a boo boo”. The magistrates actions were criminal.
