Editor's Note: I have added a link that corresponds to the article above.
Everyone, remember to source your material if it's not originally yours.
Here's something even better, a link to the actual meeting that I found of the February 10,2014 Dearborn City Council meeting found in the link below. Go to the 1:12:20 mark:

Although the DCC limits talking to three minutes, this guy finishes just under ten minutes. Unlike what the blog says, he does not preface his speech with loud chanting of prayers, but instead he says "Peace be with you" in Arabic before going on about a bunch of 'grievances', most of which seem to be work related since Hassan works for the City of Dearborn, allegedly.
I think the blog post is more of an alarmist message-- this guy doesn't seem too organized or part of any organized effort. His last point was a concern for the lack of safety precautions at the meeting place, which could be looked at as threatening if you think he may be a potential terrorist. Nevertheless, his statement is interesting, if disjoint.
Thank you, s. todd for insisting on higher degrees of verification for stories. Too often we choose to believe something that our natural prejudices accept as fact, before confirming it. There have been a few times where I have read a story and wanted to post it, but the facts were dubious upon further investigation.
Dearborn's City Council does look professional, well-spoken, and smart. Three adjectives I cannot use for Ludington's.
I think both the link and video explains it all, thanks easy and X. Forgive some of us older kids, we don't always have a link quickly avail. or may have trouble posting it at first for some technical reason. When you are only given 3 minutes to comment, and get 10 minutes, I'd say Hassan was treated more than fairly. I also think he wants his type of religious mores and country's values implanted here in the USA. That I don't agree with. And if he doesn't like his city job, the rules and nepotism, and all the rest that offends him, why doesn't he go back to his country of origin? He complains to the wrong people, then, wants to change our type of culture. That simply isn't what coming to America and being a citizen is about imho. The Muslims have literally taken over Dearborn, for quite a few years already. My cousin lived there, and moved after he found what he was in for in the daily rituals and Muslim neighbors that swarmed the entire landscape. Too bad, it used to be a very nice area long ago.
I agree with the gentlemen who spoke at the Dearborn City Council as far as not giving his address. His concern about improper reading material at the library is something I also agree with. I'm not saying to censor the material, only that they do not make it available to kids. He's also concerned with improper behavior at parks which I can also understand. The only problem I had was his addressing the Council and public in his opening comments in a language other than English. Also if a person is not a citizen of the U.S. they should not be allowed to air their grievances at Governmental meetings. I couldn't imagine a U.S. citizen living in a foreign country standing up before a "Council" meeting making complaints.

I never commented on whether he was a resident of Dearborn or not so I don't see the relevance of that statement. As far as the library situation, I've seen adult material on display in the main aisle of Ludington's Library. There was a hard cover book with a picture on the cover showing a nude woman from behind raising a knife which she is about to use to stab a naked man and women who were in bed. Would you want your kids to see that kind of material? Kids are not banned from any area of a library so they are free to wander where they want. Kids have always gone to the library without parents. That's been going on since libraries have been around. Parents shouldn't expect libraries to have sexual or violent material accessible to children. It's the libraries responsibility to keep kids and adult material separated. I don't care if the gentleman was able to talk for 10 minutes or 10 hours. Your right, languages other than English are spoken in America but if your addressing a Council meeting in America why would you speak a language other than English? Why don't you post in another language here on this forum? After all, as you say, some folks speak a different language here in our little World. You don't because nobody will know what you say and the whole idea of posting or "talking to a Council meeting" is for others to understand what you are saying. My guess is that the gentlemen is a fairly new arrival to this Country. Call me crazy but if I can hardly understand what he is saying, I assume he wasn't born in Michigan. That's just a wild guess. Easy may not have posted a completely accurate topic but I can understand the point he was trying to make. Again my guess is that the gentlemen who spoke and most of the Muslim's in Dearborn would love to have Sharia law enforced there. I'm sure your not so naive that you would disagree with that. The Indians [not their real designation] were also immigrants to the Americas. Throughout the history of humans, the strong will dominate the weak or unprepared. It was inevitable that with such a large area of land that millions of others would end up occupying this Country. I don't approve of what happened but that's how humans behave. Where would you be living now if you and your relatives had not purchased the stolen land you now occupy.
Hi s.todd. I have yet to witness anyone talking in public with a very distinct dialect from overseas that was born and raised in the USA. C'mon now, could you really say that and actually mean it? Did you not listen to his rant for 10 minutes. I for one, could hardly understand 20% of what he said, and his articulation for speech in English is nothing short of totally confusing to me at least. His ability to grasp the issues he was raising, and communicate them was a waste of time, and the council knew it, but still remained polite. As for taking over Dearborn, you can talk to people there, or visit there, and you will easily and quite quickly see for yourself. My main point is this: we have tons of people coming here to the USA, illegally, and legally. If he came legally, why is he afraid for his family and address? The whole idea of coming here, or one of us going to migrate permanently overseas, is to learn the language, learn and appreciate the culture, and become an integral and positive part of that nation. As for the indians/native americans, my families came way after that, in the mid-1800's on dad's side from Sweden, and 1925 on mom's side from Norway. They didn't fight nor kill any indians, so you can't put that, nor slavery on my ancestry in any shape or form. All of that crap that people of varying backgrounds and colors want to put on all Americans, is a bunch of rubbish. Btw, slavery wasn't invented in America, it came from Africa, or that continent, by black men against other inferior tribes of black men. If I have the time in the near future, I will link that, but I'm quite busy this week. Thanks for understanding.
I agree Aquaman. I'm sick and tired of people slamming white folks so I'm telling them, don't point your finger at me becasue I sold my last slave years ago.
Here's a quick link to slavery, which actually predates the time of writings and records, over 11,000 years, back in BC time. As for native Americans, why has that thorn poked it's head up in this discussion? It would seem to me, that if you look at the tribes that are still here nowadays, they are doing very well. Start with their casinos, to ancient treaties for fishing, to selling tax exempt items like cigarettes, and the list is long. I thought we were talking about Mr. Hassan, obviously a Muslim, and not someone that deals with living in America the way others expect and want him to. I'm also sick and tired of finger pointing at patriotic Americans that just want the status-quo of constitution and law to prevail here. The point easy tried to make had to do with people of varying colors and foreign backgrounds unable to accept our American rights and values, just to be glorified and get media attention. I just wonder if anyone else has visited Dearborn of recent, it certainly doesn't look like mid-west America anymore to me. Over and out.
