If you have a hard time reading text at a website hold down (CTRL) and press the (+) sign, you don't need to use the shift key. To make a page smaller use the CTRL and the (-) sign.

This should wok in Internet explorer(IE) as well as firefox. I don't know about others.

Another way to adjust this is to In Firefox go to "view" then "zoom" then click zoom in or zoom out.

In IE go to "page" then "zoom" the chose to zoom in or out.

In both programs there is also a choice called "reset" in those drop down menu's. This will reset the page to the size the website creator has as the standard text size for the site.

I use these (keyboard shortcuts) quite frequently. It is much easier than resetting the actual monitors display size for different pages.

As Johnny Carson used to say:  "I did not know that!"

That's why we have Lando leading us this month.  She's a font of good information regarding the navigation and exploration of our well-lit website.  I hadn't even known about the 'Home', 'End', and 'Page up/down' capabilities until this month.

Yes, I am also capable of irritating everyone by trying new colors. lol Although, i did realize to "reset to zero" my screen size so I have a baseline when editing as mine is usually enlarged. two or three +++(pluses)
Thanks for the info. I have an older verson of IE so none of the hints you posted work on my machine.

So do I on one of our comps, V6.o to be exact. I think the new IE is a bit difficult as I am not used to it since I use firefox which is set up like the old ie.

On the older versions of IE you should be able to go to the very upper left tool bar at the very top and go to "VIEW" then "text size" then you will have choices like bigger, smaller etc.. and pick one of those.

If you have the disk space I highly recommend Firefox, although there is a bit of a learning curve. Once adapted to learning how to use the ADD-ONS to customize you will forever shun IE. lol

Go to the www.mozilla.org and Check out the "cool previews" add-on(not cooliris), I don't think I could live without it. It is awesome. Whenever there is a ink, like the main page of the forum, you hover your cursor over the link and a little blue box pops up to the right of the link, then you quickly move your mouse to that and a new "temporary" window will open on top of the one that you are reading. Then just move your mouse off the preview pane and it closes.

So if you want to go through all the new forum posts real quick you just hover over the newest post on the right where it says who it is by and it will open right to that post part of the page.

It is actually design for using a search engine so that you do your search and then can quickly preview the results without having to open each one in a new tab.

I've been using FIrefox for awhile now myself.. probably 6 or so years I think.. been pretty happy with it really.
