City officials of all stripes and other local media have ignore the totally unethical code of conduct of the Mason County Growth Alliance's (MCGA) Director Spence Riggs, whose course of action throughout the last year have indicated he, and his allies, have no interest in appearing anything other than corrupt.

Summarized: MCGA Director Riggs brought a developed property in Ludington last September with an intention to further develop it.  Zoning law wouldn't allow that, so he 'volunteered' to be on the Ludington Planning Commission (LPC), then had his friend, Community Development Director Heather Tykoski, introduce the LPC to how small lots with small houses would be good for all in December.

At his first LPC in January as a public servant, he again 'volunteers' to be on the Text Subcommittee, and by the next meeting in February, he introduces a rule change to zoning ordinance that would allow building small houses on small lots, coincidentally, allowing him to develop two more residential houses on his property where he could previously build none.

He and the LPC voted to send it to the city council for final approval into law, where it was introduced at the second February council meeting, with Riggs coming before the council on behalf of the LPC saying how great and necessary it would be.  All of this was done without Riggs telling the public how his property value would skyrocket in value due to the law change.

Despite me having brought the issue several times at public meetings since March, with corroborating public records and social media posts, the city's response has been to ignore the issue; however, they have commented without legal basis as to why Riggs can split his lot without following a new law that appears to disallow it.  At the latest LPC meeting, Riggs, with City Manager John Shay's help, finally disclosed some of the conflicts of interest following Riggs selling off two sub-lots of his property to a developer for an as-of-yet undisclosed amount.  (For more info, check out Take Offense at City's Defense of Spence).

When the city acts this corruptly in allowing public servants to clearly benefit from their public service without doing the mandatory steps of abstaining from votes and discussion, and declaring the conflict at meetings, then having it entered into the minutes, it should be commemorated in song.  To that end, I have created a little ditty with the assistance of the Beatles, a tune that follows the meter and rhythm of their classic "Eleanor Rigby".

Please start the video and sing along with the custom lyrics our musical gremlins have devised to help you better understand this local issue.

'Missioner Riggs He...

Ah look at all the lowly people
Ah look at all the lowly people

'Missioner Riggs he, picked up a lot
In the city and wanted to build
Little houses
Laws wouldn't let him, he made a plan
That he kept to himself to redo
Those pesky rules

All the lowly people
They come from city hall.
All the lowly people
They all belong in jail.

Heather Tykoski, voicing support
At a meeting that no one would hear
The next Riggs appears
Look at him working, writing new rules
Out of sight adding worth to his lot
What a fine plot

All the lowly people
They all come from the swamps.
All the lowly people
They all belong in camps.

Ah look at all the lowly people
Ah look at all the lowly people

'Missioner Riggs he, wrote, emote, vote
For his rules at the council and board
One had explored
Manager John Shay, wiping the dirt
From his hands as he hears the conflict
Will not convict

All the lowly people
They will not serve the folks.
All the lowly people
What will be their next hoax?

That is hilarious X. Funny how a small group of song phrases can deliver such a big message. If one thinks about it, you've gone thru the same slime field that Trump has been enduring only you have been at it much longer. The City is the leader of the swamp and their mouthpiece, the LDN, echo's their message of lies, innuendos, misinformation and withholding the truth. Mr Trump would be proud of you.

Thanks, Willy and Verdad.  I am glad and was surprised that I could condense the basics of the scheme into a two minute song with a title close to the main villain in this case, and touch most of the bases.  I dare either of you, or anybody else, to get the karaoke (tune-only) version of the song and sing it to the councilors at the next city council meeting or the commissioners at the next LPC meeting.

Ludington is a microcosm of the nation, but there is nothing at the top (or in the council) that resembles the rugged leadership of Donald Trump, though I will note that Holman can sincerely thank those that she would rather severely spank a lot better than the two previous mayors.
