I see where the 5th ward went with only 1 vote difference, should qualify for a recount imho. The 1st ward too won by only 34 votes also, same recount should apply here. Also the 1st District office by only 14 votes, all of these very close races need recounts as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the info. X, very interesting and strange at the same time.
It was incredible that all Ludington elections were so close. I've encouraged Councilor Serna to seek a recount, for she only needs one Wally vote to switch to an Angela vote and she would be a clear winner. The 1st District vote is similar to having a ward election decided by just 4 votes, so it's very close but unlikely to be changed unless a major error was committed or fraud is suspected.
Krieger had a lot more yard signs (from my observations, he had more in the 5th ward than both Cain and Serna), the power of incumbency, and more visibility. I'm surprised his margin wasn't greater, but attribute it to the fact that he was running as a Democrat in a 60%+ Republican area (which is what Trump and all US/State congressional seats won minimally by).
