I went to high school at Mason County Central with Jim Keenan in the same graduating class.  Two things I remember about him: a fixation on the rock group KISS, and a general detachment from the rest of what was going on.  He pretty much took after his father who was a bit of an eccentric science teacher in the high school, who called him "Maynard" on occasions, a name he later adopted to the forefront of his name after a brief stint in the military.

It's always good seeing him adapt his eccentricity into profitable ventures.  You may remember his most popular song when he was lead singer for Tool in this unedited version of "Sober".  This could make an excellent marketing song for his wine, when you consider the irony! :

You learn something new every day, I have heard of tool - but I didn't know the lead singer was from Mason county, plus I always thought Staind wrote Sober - very educational day.

Weird music and video.

A song from Maynard's band pucifer:

Definitely pushing the envelope, here's a warning to viewers:  if you like country music, you may not want to look at this weird tribute.  That's Maynard for you.

He is known as a recluse out here in Arizona. He is better known for his wine that his music. His band pucifer is known for crude and sexual lyrics. Jerome AZ where he lives is known for it's history of prostitution when it was a mining town. Now Jerome is known as the home of the Hells Angles, artists and people on the witness protection program. He seems to be doing very well with the wine business. I was not familiar with his music.
