One thing I do hate about election season is all of the lies you see
thrown about by all of them. One person blaming the other person for
this or that.

I've been particularly annoyed with the Democrats trying to blame everything on the Republicans as far as the economy
goes. This simply isn't true. While the Republicans certainly DO have a
hand in the economic situation, the Democrats have their hands in the
pot too. The Democrats apparently want people to forget that THEY have
had control of congress for the last 4 years... not the last 2. The
economy went in the tank on THEIR watch... not the Republicans (And
again... the Republicans certainly didn't help things getting to the
point they did so i'm not by any means trying to give them a pass here).
Washington has been politics as usual before and after the Democrats
take over of congress... if by chance the Republicans take control of
one or both houses of Congress, things probably wont change as the
politicians will continue to do what they do best, Lie.

Anyhow, the thing that truly annoys me the most during the political season is
people like our president telling us how the other party is
obstructionist. What a pile of crap. As if the Democrats are any less
guilty of doing the exact same thing over the years. How they can even
say the other party is obstructing anything when the Democrats HAVE
CONTROL OF CONGRESS is beyond me. They have had every opportunity to
pass most anything they wanted to over the last 4 years. If they were
not able to pass something, its because members of their own party
didn't believe in the legislation... Democrats were the actual
obstructionist.

Someday there might be a few actual honest politicians in Washington but i'm not holding my breath. I guess if I
want someone honest to be there, i'll just have to run myself.

Dave, being the movie buff that you are, I'm sure you have probably seen Mr. Smith goes to Washington. I liked that move.

Do you feel if you ran for office and were elected that you would be able to reach across the aisle and work with the other side? Just wondering, because you appear to be pretty anti-Democrat.

I'm looking forward to having Rick Snyder as our governor if he is elected. He seems like a pretty honest, upstanding person to me.
I've gotten to the point where I don't trust hardly any politicians, regardless of if they are democrat, republican or whatever. I swear that many of them would stand in front of you on a cloudless day and tell you its raining out even though you can clearly see its not. The rant above was a bit aimed at the democrats in this case.. I suppose you can blame that simply on the fact that they are the ones in power at the moment. If the republicans take control of congress we'll see what observations I have at that point.

I do blame republicans and democrats for the economic situation we are in and the main reason we are at that point is because they seemingly refuse to work together. Both parties are guilty of playing partisan politics. When it comes to some of the bigger bills that pass through congress, I would love to see both sides working together to try and make bills as equitable as possible. A prime example of this is Obamacare... that bill that passed was a sham... many people are already feeling the effects of the bill in increased premiums. The democrats claimed that they included republican ideas in the bill but the pictures of closed locked doors that the democrats sat behind during the health care bill process will always haunt them. And I think simply the fact that the bill only passed via a 'sneaky' process showed how bad of a bill it was.

Anyway, I am encouraged with what I see as far as Rick Snyder goes. I am intending to cast my vote for him on election day. I like the fact that he is not a politician and that he's a businessman. Michigan I think has had enough politicians running the country... its time to try a new approach. I mean the worse thing that could happen is that his ideas don't work, which if they didn't wont really set us back any more then what we are already.
when i was younger politicians wanted to lie about what they would accomplish in office if elected. now they make fewer claims of that but lie about what the opponent has done or will do in office. snyder deserves a closer look because hes not a politician. but at some point he will turn into one. will we be able to like him then.
You make an excellent point, and yes, it's probably inevitable that Snyder will turn into a politician. Maybe the governorship will even be his stepping stone to Congress. But look at the alternative!
