Brubaker and Bernard's attitude is typical for liberals. Their "to bad for you just live with it" attitude only demonstrates the lack of caring that  progressives have for the victims of their agendas.

Btw, Bernie, my own mom and her farm family fed those same bum hobos too, and so what, they were also trying to survive in depression times, like everyone else, you have no captive audience nor monopoly on this, just saying, time to grow up, not so old with deprived intelligence and facts.

All those years, 83+ wasted in believing lies and spin-doctor stories, so sorry for you Bernie, I thought and hoped you better, and of course, more Wise in these waning years. Once a lib, always a lib?  And of course, we can't be jealous of your picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean from your mansion, or should we? And without any Windturbines in your view? I expect NOT! The Best NEWS isn't from TV or any radio, it's from Life's experiences, my dear fellow, please pinch yourself, and wake up, at long last!

Poor jealous fellow! I think you are watching too much FOX NEWS. I spent my early years in Custer, and Ludington, Aquaman, and remember it well.. I visit there frequently,(But only after July) and admire the changes that have happened during my lifetime. My Dad used to tell me that the Indians measured a persons life by the number of winters he/she had survived..I have 83 of them, largely because I was smart enough to move away from a place where you get snow up to a tall indians hip pockets every year.. ha ha. Be of good cheer fellas, I heard the same old BS when Franklin Roosevelt was getting the country back from the previous (Hoover)Republican party.. you wouldn't remember or even know about the "Little Hooverville" that was along the Pere Marquette tracks during that time, with thousands of hobos wound up at the end of the tracks with no place to go or work. My Mom fed many of them, and they were all hard workers who had lost thier farms or jobs and were trying to move West. The carferrys were the unexpected obstacle to getting to California via the PM railroad. So a few 50 foot towers  are a welcome sight, but I think the Electric company has done a rotten job explaining the real costs. I say that based on the puffed up numbers given earlier regarding cost, and who pays for what. It's value to the community is what matters, not the scenic. Anyway, I LIKE Towers! I am one myself!

Bernard

I don't know what world you live in but how can 500 ft towers in the center of a community have any comparison  with telephone poles. The Consumers project is a hill and when viewed from a distance that's what it looks like.  I would like to see your reaction if these towers were put up all around your home and the value of your property dropped to zero because noone wanted to purchase it but you still had to pay high taxes on that now worthless property. Sit back in your easy chair and watch all of these folks getting a 500 ft. shaft up their rears and joke about it. You've been around a long time but you don't seem to know much about what is going on with the "green energy" consortium and the fact that ex vice President Al Gore is  heavily invested in "green energy" and is making millions off other peoples suffering. You wouldn't be so flippant and dismissing about this issue if it affected you personally and financially. These towers are not "progress". They are tax robbing, special interest monstrosities and those that are promoting them, including Gore, have been pulling the wool over our eyes.

With all due respect, for you Bernie, I don't see you living here, you know, in Ludington, and seeing the eyesore, by night and day, you live, presumptively, in California, with Arnold, not realists and objective types, and of course the rest of the Lib bunches bunched up out there, where a typical landslide, earthquake, or fault may take you all away anyways, what a way to live, eh?

Comment by Bernard Tower on October 29, 2012 at 12:59am

Willy, Willy, calm down!Al Gore dosen't even know your name, or where Ludington is..ha ha, i'm reasonably sure he's not behind your wind farms, even if he does prompte eco friendly living.. and I heard the same old "Outraged" comments when the pumping setup was put in.. and when the first electric generator/(diesel operated) when the REA electrification installation brought electricity to Custer and the farms surrounding.I was there and heard all the doom and gloom. Until then we had kerosene lanterns, candles, and daylight.. want to bring back the "Good old days?" you wouldn't last long living in those times. It was electricity that brought the citys of Scottville and Ludington..and yes, even Shelby to life. Be happy.. enjoy, and cheer up, the world isn't going to end, no matter what the Mayans say.

I would ask the same question of Brubaker, Willy, but we might see he's another one of those "green weenies" that feed on the public's fears, not that of reality. 22%? We DO have plenty of these Land Monsters to go around, esp. since they are so "green" in theory, but NOT so MUCH in reality! These "GW's" exist under the guise of enviroment good doers, but lack in substance and proofs everytime. Too bad they don't pay any attention to facts and figures, the blueprint for any success in any endeavor. Just more "scare tactics" is all I see, and so should all of us, jmo.

My family owns a fruit farm and they are surrounded by turbines which can be seen from every window in the house. By the way what's the point of your question?
