Yes, you read that right.. A man in Canada was arrested for a drawing of a gun. The daughter of Jessie Sansone was at school and had drawn a picture of what appeared to be a person with a gun. When questioned about the picture his daughter said it was her dad and that he uses the gun "to shoot bad guys and monsters". So of course officials see some sort of need to call the police and he ends up arrested and even strip searched. Needless to say the whole action was tremendously crazy, a big over reaction and frankly, a despicable jumping to the wrong conclusions. Of course Jessie won't be offered any apology for the incident because the powers that be claim that "the system worked correctly", they had to be sure that no guns were accessible to children. I of course can't figure out how they could come to any conclusion of a drawing of a 4 year old that says the gun is used to kill monsters into there is a danger of guns laying around. Throw on the strip search and you have insanity... did he have guns hid in his butt? Canadians officials should be ashamed of themselves!

Police arrested a Kitchener, Ont., father outside his daughter's school because the four-year-old drew a picture of him holding a gun.

Jessie Sansone told the Record newspaper that he was in shock when he was arrested Wednesday and taken to a police station for questioning over the drawing. He was also strip-searched.

"This is completely insane. My daughter drew a gun on a piece of paper at school," he said.

Officials told the newspaper the move was necessary to ensure there were no guns accessible by children in the family's home. They also said comments by Sansone's daughter, Neaveh, that the man holding the gun in the picture was her dad and "he uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters," was concerning.

Police also searched Sansone's home while he was in custody. His wife and three children were taken to the police station, and the children were interviewed by Family and Children's Services.

Sansone's wife, Stephanie Squires, told the newspaper no one told them why her husband had been arrested.

"He had absolutely no idea what this was even about. I just kept telling them, 'You're making a mistake.'"
Several hours later, Sansone was released without charges.

I guess the system worked for those that have a job with 'the system'.

What a crock! gun paranoia is being put to use by the gov't/new world order people like reefer madness was in the past. Create an evil out of something that threatens your power/dictatorship/profit wishes so that nobody can defend themselves against the fascist takeover of the world.

this country is no different, folks.

Not to long ago there was a big stink, because doctors were asking children, if there were any firearms in the homes. That was in the US.

I follow very closely anything that concerns the 2nd. amendment. Try checking out what the small arms treaty , thru the UN, has to do with YOUR gun rights. You'd be amazed.

Also, Mr. O is the only one from the US to sign onto it, backed  by Hillary C. Thankfully it has to be OKed by congress. But, there again, who knows??

Of course, I am a lifetime member of the NRA, if anyone was interested.

I remember a time a while back before computer graphics animation (CGA)wher e certain people were shocked by the level of cartoon violence in the old standby cartoons (Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Tom & Jerry, etc.).  Now we have CGA movies that many kids see in passing where the violence is more realistic and glamorized.

Yet as Easy says, this could happen almost anywhere, when the teachers overreact and the authorities enter the picture.  Kudos to Dave for tying this thread into my latest on Canadian trends, the one with the student "passing a bomb in the library" and the thread started on the local school's reaction to a student's notes, of which I still haven't got a FOIA reply on just yet to figure out what exactly happened. Was it as ridiculous as this?
