Guy builds a bubble to run on the Ocean and the Coast Guard hauls him back to shore.

The Coast Guard told him not to embark, he left anyway, they hauled him back to shore.

Maybe he should practice this stunt in Michigan first. Get his sea legs so to speak.  The cooler temps and traveling on fresh water would overcome two of biggest obstacles. Overheating and keeping hydrated.

Maybe the Maritime  Museum could sponsor his run across the Lake. Wouldn't cost much. Plenty of publicity. They could display the craft along with their other exhibits.

I remember a ways back when 2 guys from Ludington tried to cross Lake Michigan in a bathtub, they were never heard from again. Lots of local rumors about their demise. A few years later another attempt to cross the Lake was made in a bathtub. Ludington to Manitowoc  This time successful. Maybe that bathtub is still floating around. Would also make a good exhibit.

Many things that have been dubbed impossible have been disproved by those willing to take a risk.

For those who want to shame this man's mission they might want to consider that he has eschewed being 'subsidized' by anybody, financing, supplying, and building the bubblecraft by himself, and deferring any support from the USCG-- once you wade through the USCG and US media propaganda about the 2014 voyage, you will find that he was stopped by the USCG and told to abort his quest before they 'rescued' him against his will and left his bubblecraft out at sea (read the  UK Daily Mail 2014 story) after an accidental activation of his beacon.

So by all means be angry at him for risking his life with his own life savings invested in his dream of completing this voyage, done in order to raise money for impoverished children.  And be happy that our USCG can quash those dreams by utilizing their nautical powers to deprive him of his right to travel and be safe from unlawful searches and seizures.

I don't think it's impossible to do what he plans on doing, very improbable mind you, but not impossible.  It becomes impossible when you add the overbearing USCG to the mix.  Let him be, let him have his own support team try to rescue him if need be.  He may die at the attempt, but his dream will not.

The Bubble Man sure has a funny way of eschewing financing...maybe he is rehearsing to be a City Manager.

" I am praying and asking for donations to rebuild and restart my mission to run for peace. If you would like to help, please donate here:http://www.gofundme.com/fibqhw"

Maybe you and Willy can finance his next endeavor.  Think of yourselves as Queen Isabella funding Columbus. Maybe the Kayak guy will be out by then and he can be First Mate.

I could care less if the BM wishes to risk his own life. But he should man up and leave the transponder at home.

From his first attempt it looks like he had a better chance of hitting Greenland than Bermuda. Something called the Gulf Stream.
