Most of you may have heard of Google Street View but for those of you who haven't I am posting a link below. Street View is a progam by Google to photograph every street in the U.S and the World. To use it type in the City, State and street you want to look at. If you don't know the street and want to look at a city in general, just type in the city and state. Then zoom in on the street you want then drag the little figure from the top of the zoom in/out bar to the street you want to view. If the street view is available the little figure will let you know. The map will turn into a photo of the street you are looking up. You can travel along the street by clicking on the arrows at the lower portion of the picture and you can rotate the screen 360 degrees and see every house and building on that street as well as zoom in on a particular building. It appears that only the streets in Ludington that show up in yellow have been photographed and are the only ones that can be displayed but I didn't try all of them so take a whack at it. I'm sure they will get to the rest of the streets in short order. Try New York City, Rome or Paris.  They all have interesting views. There are a million places to look at. The program allows you to view buildings and monuments from top to bottom. In my opinion this is pretty amazing and invasive at the same time but what can we do.

I have used the streetview feature of Google often before to try to re-create certain accidents in remote locations that I have come across involving bikes and pedestrians.  I have used this feature at least three times in the threads in the BUMPS group, including this one.

You can generally only get main streets of an area, that being M-116, US 10 (including South James St), and US 31 in the local area.  Despite it's limitations, it does have a lot of possibilities, many of which Willie touched on.  With any luck, you may even see someone you know or their vehicle if they were outside when the photo-canvassing was done.
