House Rep Anna Kirkpatrick of AZ sponsors bill to cut pay in congress by 5%

I can commend Kirkpatrick for sponsoring this bill. So far there have been about 20 other people joining her, hopefully this bill gets passed. It would be nicer of course if there was a bigger paycut for them but its a start at least.

In the bill, does it have any concession for cutting any perquisites or fringe benefits, Dave? I love the idea behind the bill.

Didn't hear if their were any concession's or not.. they were talking about it on the TV so I decided to start a thread.. and as usual, I wasn't paying full attention... haha

Well, will wonders never cease? How about a provision that they accept the same health care coverage as the rest of America.

Nathan Deal (R- Ga) went even one step further and said that Congress should get a pay cut every time there is an annual deficit increase. With the current crew, however, I am sure they will just make up the money crookedly elsewhere, and feel justified in doing so.
