John Shay's Salary?

What was Ludington's City Manager John Shay's reported salary, as paid by local taxpayers, in 2008, according to his W-2 for that year?  I know; I just want to see whether anyone else knows, can accurately guess, or think they can find that information.

Don't include the hefty amount of fringe benefits he gets, just the salary. Reportedly, he has frozen city worker's salaries the last two years.  Is there any reason he would be so reluctant to show Ludington citizens the W-2s for 2009 and 2010 without placing unlawful fees on an FOIA request?

A 12% difference in the reported and actual income?  Sounds like a problem to me?

The LDN just reported today, not much advance notice, that Monday, 2/28/11, the city council will be discussing "beach safety" for the 2011 season. Seems like they want to spend $40K for some safety rings, about 10 of them, with some new signage about undertoes and safety, and a 911 phone extension at the center Lifeguard station. WOW! After 2 drownings they just woke up to say hey, let's invest $40K, double the cost of full time lifeguards to jump in and save people, to put up some more precautionary tools. Why not reinstate the Lifeguards themselves? How foolish and arrogant, imo. Looks like it may be a good date to attend and ask these questions firsthand, and hope the idiots can see the err of their ways last beach season, but I truly doubt it. Maybe Shay can give details about his salary discrepancies too, while we're at it? Either way, those are sure expensive life rings and signage, and no doubt we know whom will be let those signage contracts again.

I hope that the same people who said that both Anthony and Anupam in 2010 could not have been possibly saved by lifeguard's intervention note that these would not have saved them either. 

They are considering 80 hours/week of Beach Rangers to patrol Stearn's during the summer months as well.  But I agree with Aquaman, the City shirked its duties last year in not providing for the safety of our visitors and our local users of the treacherous waters off Stearn's Park. 

Could those new signs be made with 22 K gold too?  LOL.

No, Edie, there is a perfectly good reason why the W-2 wages are $3350 more than the budget-reported wages.  I will open a new thread to explain it.
