Mason county is estimated to have about 40 deer per square mile of land. So with 495 sq. miles of land there are about 20,000 deer in Mason County. The annual kill from hunting and collisions is about 5,000 in Mason County. Meaning that 25% of the deer are killed every year not counting other causes of death. Despite this the Ludington council wants to spend about $20,000.00 per year to kill another 40 [at the most] Believing that will change the number of deer in the city. I hope other city expenditures are given more critical consideration. www.stopthedeercull.org
