Manistee County residents helping each other out in these tough times.
Manistee Helping Manistee (Bear Lake, Freesoil, Kaleva, onekama, etc).
This group takes donations of all kinds ( food, clothes, toiletries etc... And then gives them to those in need. It is a relatively new group that is ran out of a women's home. Members can also post items their in search of and other members see if they have them or knows someone who does. While the name states it's for Manistee area they also include any one in the area who's in need.
I am posting this here to get the word out - if you know of anyone in need please direct them to their Facebook page - I know not everyone has Facebook or Internet, but it's free to go to the library and use their computers to set up a free Facebook account and join the group.
Personally I think the idea is great, gives back my faith in humanity.
Please pass along so word gets out their that help is available.

Good find again Dave, thanks. This entire concept and idea is no stranger to the American republic since our founding. We have always had a majority of good people that come to the aid of their neighbors, as well as the world. Participants can be assured that their generosity is well received and well served in most cases. If we multiplied these type of groups into the thousands around the country, there probably wouldn't be any need for government handouts and welfare, esp. as we know it to be out of control today. Good for you Manistee, keep up the good work.
