Everytime I log into this site music starts to play. Is the music coming from this forum. I have to shut off my speakers. If the music is being generated by this forum I would like to make a request. Please, Please no more music. Please disregard this message if this forum is not responsible for the music.  Thanks.

That doesn't happen to me but I don't go to the main page or people personal pages, just the forums directly.

okay it does happen on the main page. If you use firefox use the add on called flash block, you won't get any music video or adds on any site but it gives you and icon (play button type deally)over the flash item you can click to see or hear it. I have to click play for about anything that isn't words or stillphotos's. it even stops youtube video until clicked. its awesome.

The music on the main page is optionally added by the administrator, and unfortunately the membership has little control over getting hit with music from the main page and members who opt to put music to greet visitors onto their main page besides turning their speakers down or using a utility like Sheila described. I would like to keep this feature on the main page if at all possible, but I also am interested in hearing whether the folks who tune in and must endure it are troubled by it.

Anyone else have pro or con arguments-- or any other way to help those who wish to silence the tunes automatically, like Sheila has?

I don't get any music when I go to home page or any other page here. I do use firefox and have flashblock, but no arrows to click on appear here.

My point is that almost anywhere you go they are playing music. It's as if they think we can't be without it. I no longer go to the gas stations that pipe in music to the pumps. Sometimes it's so loud you can't hear anything else. Resturants, stores, gas stations, loud car music, ect. and now this forum. It is damn irritating. So I came up with a solution. I bookmarked the discussions and bypass the main forum page. So if there is any information on the main page that is important, I will not be reading it. If the discussions becomes a music programmed entity then I will not visit there anymore.
