Not sure on a couple of them, but I think I got at least half.

Zero out of eight.  Are you sure you've ever been to Ludington Marty?

This is a good riddle. I honestly can't remember any of these signs so I just guessed. Fun though.

You did better than Marty, Willy.  The full pictures/answers will be revealed Tuesday night in a post here, so if you haven't tried yet, give it a try

Responses #5, 7, and 8 are correct.  Congratulations, you are at the top of our Signology class-- but would L. Ron Hubbardski be proud of a 3 out of 8 score?

I feel a little off on some of these. Maybe by a block in one direction or another.

You came one away from a perfect score by getting # 8 correct.  In order, you were 1) two blocks away, 2) five blocks away, 3) n/a  4)  one block away  5) seven blocks away  6) five blocks away  7) four blocks away.

Take heart in that you did better than Marty and Toni.

Here are the answers, two at a time, with the area around the sign depicted blown up, and the location divulged:

1.  The sign is in front of McDonald's Bakery, near the corner of Dowland and James.  D

2. Right in front of Mr. Three Hats', Les Johnson's, convenience store, at the corner of Danaher and James looking north, A.

3. Same place as #1, on James & Dowland looking south this time:  C

 4.  You're turning down James St, off Ludington Ave. headed south:  B

5.  Surprise, you're at the back end of the #2 sign, on the corner of Danaher & James looking south: D

6.  Surprise, those branches with no leafs yet may block your sight of the sign, but you're near the corner of Loomis and James:  D.

7.  The other side of #6, again Loomis and James:  B

8.  The sign is actually very readable if you catch the stoplight red, and you're the first in line at James & Ludington looking north:  C

An interesting result occurred here.  Even if you blindly guess at a multiple choice test with four options, you should get 1/4 of them right, on average.  Two out of eight in this case.  Three knowledgable people who know Ludington took this test, and between them they got four out of twenty-four right.  Less than the six they should have got if they randomly chose options.

One could say that this indicates we should have spent a lot of more money on way-faring signs, but reasonable people might also conclude otherwise.
