If you can't tell, he's not fond of current monetary policies, as he gives us a new take on

this holiday classic.

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the world
Every heart was stirring, as a nightmare unfurled.
The stocks on the ticker were watched with care,
In hopes that Bernanke soon would be there.

The traders were restless, sprawled out in their beds,
While visions of stimulus danced in their heads.
And those of us who’d already learned history’s lesson,
Bought silver and gold to wait out the depression.

When across the Atlantic there arose such a clatter,
I checked ZeroHedge to see what was the matter.
Away with the Euro they did in a flash,
A modern economy now rubble and ash.

The stock market plunged to a new awful low,
As the Euro collapse threatened to grow.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But the Federal Reserve and eight financiers.

With a bearded old chairman to loan cash again,
I knew in a moment it must be St Ben.
More rapid than eagles his financiers came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now Goldman! now, JP! now, Citi and Fannie!
On, Fargo! On, Regions! on, Royal and Freddie!
We cannot allow consumer demand to fall!
Now loan away! Loan away! Loan away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
The Federal Reserve notes whirled in the sky.
So up to the house-tops the piles of cash grew,
With the banks full of joy and old St. Ben too.

And then, in frustration, I saw on the news,
St. Ben Bernanke defending his views.
Testifying to Congress, St. Ben took the stand,
And said “We must stimulate aggregate demand!”

He was dressed all in lies, from his head to his toe,
And he sidestepped the questions we all want to know.
Refusing to address the secrets that vex us,
He sighed and shrugged at the gentleman from Texas.

His eyes-how they narrowed! his manner how rude!
While a struggling family paid more for food!
And a middle class worker paid more at the pump,
And consumers used credit to pay for more junk.

The dozens of lies that he spit through his teeth,
Obscured the corruption and favors beneath.
He knew what was coming; he desperately fought it,
He knew that he’d never withstand a full audit!

“The Federal Reserve must remain independent!”
He said as he desperately tried to defend it.
But the people had spoken and made their demand,
The secrets and favors could no longer stand.

He knew it was only a matter of time,
Before the American people would find,
Exactly how much of their savings were taken,
Through printing, and loaning, and endless inflation.

Too fearful to face the upcoming election,
Without a full audit by the end of the session.
Congress placed the Fed’s books in plain sight,
With a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

He's a poet who knows it and I hope this is not going to be our Christmas future.

On the night before Christmas:  Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.  Enjoy your holiday, especially if it extends through Monday.
