The Ludington Torch uses the Ning ID for authentication

The above arrived last week at the E-mail account I had established at Lakeshore Soup when I was a member there.  When I originally arrived at LS last May, I had been thrown off LT explicitly for being quarrelsome, particularly with one of our recent members (whereas,in reality, it was more due to the controversial content regarding the courts and the city leaders, and three unanswered as of yet questions concerning state law I asked). I had been XLFD at LT, and signed into LS as XXLFD, as I was now an X-XLFD.  In short time I shortened it to the much more pronouncible XLFD.  That short period, at LS, was the only time I had that monicker you see above, anywhere.

As you can see, someone, not I, because I use a wholly different E-mail for the Torch, attempted to access my account here at the Torch, and change the password. If they had been successful, they could have got rid of this site. Who had access to that e-mail account?  Well thehr Administrator had it, as any administrator can look your EMA up.

But the various other co-administrators at the Soup can also look that up, even after you've been removed, and of course anybody else who they may tell it to. Not very ethical, but not totally unexpected.

So why do I bring this to your attention?  Many of you are former Soupers, some of you are currently there, at LT, or at other networking sites.  Your password may be the only thing that stands between you and any unscrupulous administrators hacking into your EMA.

Play it safe, create a special E-mail address to use for such sites and create a very secure password.  Never ever give out your password to anyone you don't trust with your life. Then you can go on looking for clues without any cares.

Also, if this happens to any of you who have frequented other sites, please let me know.
Good advice, X, and I've went and changed my password to "XLFDRules-Behrdrools", I don't see them writing that soon. If they bust my password, they are welcome to all the useless drivel there, as they should be used to useless drivel posted elsewhere. But leave me the firemen pics my sister sent me, here's my fave; hey X,is that you?

Quit shamelessly sucking up to the administrator. No, I don't do tattoos, but have you realized you've given your password out? Now they will replace your fireman pictures with pictures of 400 lb. crossdressers. Told you to be careful, you silly lady.
No, that's one of my sons, Aqualad Jr., notice he can't stay away from water either? Handsome chap, dontcha think? Takes after Daddy I do assume.
Before I get kicked off again, just wanted to mention that I have had trouble this morning getting into this site and LT. I got messages that my password was incorrect. I carefully re-entered the passwords, but I kept getting the "wrong password" message. I then had to reset them and I was able to enter. After I read this discussion last night I changed both passwords (each different), and that seems to have started this morning's problem. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
I haven't, but let me know if that problem continues.
As if in answer to my post, I got another E-mail on password changing shortly after this thread was posted. Pretty funny stuff.
Zomeone needs to put that bahr face on a can of pee soupee, just to make it schtick.
I was able to get in to post this morning - it's a miracle. If you never hear from me again, it's because I'm unable to sign in. I told X about it earlier. I keep getting a "wrong password" message, then I have to go to my e-mail and use a link provided by the site to reset my password. I follow the instructions and am able to sign in, but the next time I try to sign in it happens again. It sounds vaguely like X's situation so I'm wondering if the site has been hacked. What's even weirder is that the same thing is happening to me with Ludington Talks. I'm really clueless as to what is going on. I have been taking some steps to safeguard my identity and my computer.

At least I can stop in to visit and read all your animated posts, even if I can't sign in.
If its happening at both sites, its probably some virus, etc. you picked up somewhere along the way interfering with your system. Anyone with computer knowledge able to help Mary?
Might just be your computer remembering your old password. Check out your E-mail, hope it helps.
Sign out of all ning sites you use. Then clear your, cookies, history, browser cache, temp pages etc....

Then try signing back in to each.

I am not having any trouble.
