It seems Ole Keith made some political donations that go against MSNBC policy and has been suspended indefintely. Poor guy. I feel so bad. I'm grabbing the tissues. If I can stop laughing I might be able to dry my eyes.

Does this make him one of his "Worst People Of The Day"? lol

Olbermann Suspended From MSNBC for Campaign Donations

Keith Olbermann, the top anchor on MSNBC, was suspended on Friday after the channel discovered that he had made campaign contributions to three Democrats.

The MSNBC president, Phil Griffin, issued a statement saying, “I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely
without pay.”

No one at NBC News would speculate about what this might mean for Mr. Olbermann’s future, though one NBC executive suggested this was not a step toward firing him.

Politico had reported Friday morning that Mr. Olbermann’s contributions were in apparent violation of MSNBC policy.

Mr. Olbermann hosts the most popular program on MSNBC, “Countdown.” He worked at MSNBC in the late 1990s and re-joined the channel in 2003.

He has long been a volatile figure inside MSNBC, in part for his polarizing points of view. He has sometimes clashed with Mr. Griffin and other managers over editorial decisions, and he has been publicly
critical of some of his former bosses.

Mr. Olbermann did not immediately respond to a request for comment after the suspension was announced Friday afternoon.

MSNBC has a number of hosts who could fill in for Mr. Olbermann, including Lawrence O’Donnell, who recently started to host a 10 p.m. program on the channel; and Cenk Uygur, who recently was signed as a
contributor.

If Keith made a contribution to three Republicans, instead of three Democrats, he would have been fired definitely ( for further research, see Juan Williams, formerly of NPR).
So since when can your boss tell you who to vote for or support?

That is a crock of poop.
Its apparently in the NBC code of ethics and regulations that employees can not just go out and make donations as Olberman did. If he had informed the higher ups of his intention and gotten permission to do so, he probably would of been fine. Apparently everyone that works at MSNBC or any of its sister stations has to sign a form saying as much.

And it wasn't so much that it was the boss telling him who he could vote for... he could vote for whoever he wanted... he simply just couldn't donate to any of them without permission. It should be noted too that the people he donated too were not people that he could of voted for.
One of the World's Worst People now, the Knock Out man himself, has fallen prey to his own hypocrisy, imho. Not that I see the terrible thing he did, political donations and free advertising for the liberal line, except, violate his own contract, and make himself look cheap, as the donations weren't that expensive compared to his salary. Or not? Btw Dave and Max, hasn't anyone seen the trip to India by Mr. O right now, he can't even lick his defeat wounds in peace this week, he's on his way to another BIG $$$$$ junkett in India, costing untold hundreds of millions of $$$ PER DAY! Totally unheard of in politics by ANY Prez. in history, and for WHAT Exactly? I haven't heard the exact reason, trade, future Pakistan war, or just another long overdue vacation? WOW!
Wouldn't it be an interesting world if FOX News decided to pick up Mr. Olbermann and give him a political analysis program?
If they could pull that off it would be the coup. A lot of bad blood between Fox and Olby though.... of course money can make some people forget about the bad blood.
Yeah it was probably the donating thing that did him in. MSNBC doesn't mind if the journalists (using the word loosely) try to report opinion as hard news and without accurate sources. But it leaves too hard of money trial to dispute bias if they just throw a wad of cash into a left wing smear job I think??? ;)
Remember when Chris Matthews' Hardball was on Fox? Now look where and what he's saying, quite a change of character the last few years. Coup coming?
