I'm going to try and post a Quote of the Day every so often.. might be everyday, might not.. if I see a good quote I'll post it. If any of you see a quote that you think would fit nicely here, feel free to post it.

Here's today's quote:

"If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent may we be led, like sheep to the slaughter"

- George Washington

Thanks Dave, but with all due respect, I do thing Max quoted that already elsewhere recently, but, the slogan still is important. And don't forget: W. Churchill: socialism is of the duds, by the duds, and for the duds. Duds per Websters definition: "defective and worthless". Says it all, doesn't it? And isn't that what this current Administration is ALL ABOUT? Sayeth the messiah, Obama?

Well worth repeating, however, after the Tucson shooting.

Winston Churchill had the right idea, and is surely turning over in his grave over the current state of affairs in Britain.  I must add Britain's version of Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and her view on socialism to complete the trilogy:  "To cure the British disease with socialism was like trying to cure leukaemia with leeches."

I think Margaret Thatcher also said "The problem with socialism is sooner or later you run out of other people's money".

Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no rich no more.. Id love to change the world, but I don't know what to do.

Alvin Lee,Ten Years After- I'd love to change the world  1971

not much has really changed since then ehhh???

On the lighter side, here is one of my favorites from Ronald Reagan:

"Before I refuse to take your questions, I have an opening statement."

Thanks and many Dittos Max, RWR had many profound statements, and your first quote, about individual responsibility, was echoed many times in the last few days by many across the nation. Wisdom for the unification of our people, through any such tragedy, is never out of style.
The group consisting of mother, father and child is the main educational agency of mankind."

-Martin Luther King
Do you think MLK would be offended that the educational push is to place more and more of a child's time not with Mother or father but after school programs and even placing restrictions on what parents can teach the children?

How about pre-school and pre-pre-school.

And what about this foolishness by Florida law makers

True.. and good point.
“A zebra does not change its spots.”   --Al Gore.
I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive
