What's happening around town 6-10-20

Went out with my cell phone to see what was going on around town. For a small burg that's not completely operating on all cylinders there was a lot of interesting things going on.

PICK UP STIX

Stix is no more. The new owner is going to keep the bowling alley which may or may not remain in it's present usage.

DOWNTOWN ROAD REPAIR

This is one of the largest street projects I can remember

BOAT REQUIRED TO GET TO YOUR BOAT AT TRANSIENT DOCK

TAMARAC DOCKS UNDER WATER. NO HELP FROM GOVERNMENT

PM MEMORIAL FINISHED. RUMOR HAS IT THAT ELVIS AND HOFFA ARE LOCKED AWAY AND HIDDEN INSIDE. PYRAMIDS ARE SAID TO BE PRESERVERS OF BODIES

Beautiful pictures of our area in transition. I hear that Dr. Riemer is building a new destination at that corner, think of a new Wren's Roost for Hamlin Twp. According to the contractor: "Park Lanes Bowling Alley is staying and getting totally redone and lanes resurfaced. Brunswick Bowling is coming in to do all the bowling machines. It’s going to be a retro-looking bowling alley. It’s going to make you feel like you’re walking into the 1970s."

That will be so cool, almost as cool as the deep marina waters.

Deep marina waters aren't so cool either, but it's unavoidable now. As for Stix, hope they build something with knotty pine walls again, that was always a favorite of mine. Hate to lose that old place, been there forever, and was always a meeting place for 60's-70's school guys, shameful they have to demolish what's left of old memories. New PM memorial looks great though, love it.
