A young lady down in Mona Shores was recently denied the opportunity to become Homecoming King by the school. In this case, I am going to go with the schools decision. She is a she put simply. There was no reason that she couldn't of run for the queen nomination and simply of showed up at the event in a tux. Most people attending probably would be well of aware of her status and not shocked by her showing up that way. The school has rules to the voting and its pretty clear... girls can be voted for to be queen, guys for king. She is registered in the school system as a female, still has all of her lady parts and will assume uses the female facilities when she feels the need to use them. She might consider herself as being transgendered, which she very well could be, but legally, she would be recognized as a woman. This reminds me of the story a few years back about the worlds first pregnant man... the big problem with the story was that the 'man' wasn't a man. That person to this point still has the female reproductive organs she was born with and as far as I know has had a 2nd or 3rd child since then. She simply isn't a man at this point if she is having babies with the organs she was born with. She can get the other stuff done if she wants to make her look more like a man but at the end of the day, she is still a woman.
It simply comes down to this, you can't always have your cake and eat it too.

Even if the students didn't stay with the guidelines that surely have existed for decades at the school?
I might side with you if it was something new they were doing but assuming that its a long standing rule, I just don't see where it would be fair for the school to break the existing rule. There was another option, her running for Homecoming Queen, had she done that to begin with then there wouldn't of been an issue.
There is the possibility that the students might make sure that she is honored in someway anyway. The story is out of Mona Shores so more then likely I will see something in the paper regarding what happens in the near future.
I have sympathy for this young person being so confused about her identity. I hope she gets the help she needs. Homecoming king - no. That honor should go to a deserving male. The school is traveling uncharted territory here. It must be hard for the district to keep the focus on the general student population.
I agree with Dave. Turning social rules upside down to appease someone who says that they are male and not female is totally arrogant. And for liberals to think society should accept this type of situation is arrogant. Like I said on the other forum, if this is going to be OK then I am within my rights to declare myself a black person even tho I am white because I feel like a black person inside. Totally rediculous.
