This is a public service announcement, especially for parents with children at Franklin Elementary School, Ludington High School or OJ DeJonge Jr. High School.
All parents need to be aware that there is a Registered Sex Offender that is working out of a house that is within a 1000 feet of these school buildings. His name is Thomas Teague and he works for Town &County Taxi service. He drives a red Chrysler Minivan with the license plate CAT 5963. Besides working out of this house, he is there quite frequently to visit his girlfriend whom he co-runs that taxi service with. In the state of California he was found guilty of Lewd or Lascivious Acts with Child under 14 Years. In order to help protect our children in this community, I filed a complaint with the MSP because according to the SOR (sex offender registration) law: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/mcl/pdf/mcl-295-1994-iii.pdf, he is not to work within a school safety zone. This issue finally went to court today. Judge Wadel decided that our children are not worth protecting because he found this man not guilty, even though the evidence, witnesses, and Mr. Teague’s own admission that he in fact was and is working out of this house and is there a majority of his time. (This part of the evidence, his admission to a police officer during the investigation, was not allowed to be admitted into evidence in court today because the trooper who investigated the complaint has since passed (RIP Trooper Butterfield). Judge Wadel stated that because it could not be shown if he was actually working or just visiting his girlfriend all the times that he is seen at this residence, then he could not find him guilty. I say BULLSHIT!!!! Regardless if he is working or visiting this residence, he is there 90% of the time during the week and should not be allowed to be in close proximity to our children. I am putting this out there for all to share, please!!! We need to keep individuals like this as far away from our children as possible. And if you happen to ever need to use a taxi service, AVOID Town & Country at all costs!!!!! They have a child molester working for them.

Was this tried before a jury, or did Judge Wadel just make an opinion? 

Even though I have wrote a few articles about RSOs living or working within 1000 ft. of school property, I am not the biggest fan of the law.  Since 1000 ft. (roughly 3 city blocks) in many towns and cities can cut out the majority of their area, it frequently results in all the RSOs living and/or working in one or two concentrated pockets, which may not help the problem.  Perhaps the law should allow RSOs to work and 'frequently visit' addresses that are closer than 1000 ft. away (but further than say 500 ft.) if a locality's officials are made aware of that fact and approve of it.

  Perhaps, Judge Wadel had a similar notion, or just wanted to expediate the process.  It seems like a 'manufactured technicality' on his part, however, to dismiss the findings of Trooper Butterfield just because he cannot testify, if Butterfield's reports have the admissions you state. 

All in all, it is a question of weighing the public's safety against the rights of an individual, and the state law is the trump card which should rule in court, one would think, without some special declaratory ruling on Judge Wadel's part.

It was originally suppose to be a jury trial, but the defense changed their mind to a bench trial....and yes I think wadels response was "manufactured" I contacted another city in MI and they gave me the direct number of someone to call in lansing, which I will be doing tomorrow among other things. I have the police report and as soon as I can figure out my scanner I will upload trooper butterfields account of mr teagues admission to him. The prosecutors office said it was hearsay, bcuz the trooper is no longer here to be cross examined. Believe me, this fight is not over yet.....everyone in this community will know about mr Teague and what kind of monster he is when I am done

I I were Mr. Teague I would move out of the area in question so as to avoid a conflict. He is only bringing attention to himself by bucking the system but maybe that is a good thing because people are becoming aware of him and his presence.

no problem!!! I plan on making a bunch of flyers to hand out around the neighborhood and post in the city where I can. I also am going to write a letter to the LDN, doubt they will post it but I will try.  I also am going to put part of the above in a misc classified ad soon.  :) This is not the end of this, no body mess with this momma bear!!!
