The father is generally required from what I understand to pay airfare, but in this case the man is already telling her "don't come" The entire saga can be read on Facebook. here is the friends of Alaina page that is in support of Alaina.

 

Here sister has set up an American Airlines Account where people can donate miles to help her get to Chicago(from N. Carolina).

 

Acct #15006986762. is the Am. Airlines miles account number set up for her by someone. her sister I think. There is also a petition in support of her at change.org

For those interested the reason she can't move to Chicago at this point is because of cost and because of her team of doctors at DUKE and support network. In Chicago she would have no support(family, friends, medical team etc...). I

I'd give some airline miles if I had any.  Is there any new court action on this?  I hope this gets overturned.  I believe what Willie said in your other thread, that the guy moved away, she should get at least primary custody.

I can't believe illness (aside from mental illness that endangers) can even be used in a custody case. Seems the ADA would want in on this as it could affect there people in the long run.

There must be more to this story than what appears on the forum. I wouldn't send money. Who knows, this might be a scam to bilk folks out of money.

It is far from a scam, search the news, Durham NC is the town A.Giordano is from.

 

They aren't asking for money, just American Airlines MILES to get Alaina to Chicago to see the kids.  Even though I am under the assumption that the father is responsible to pay(not sure about family court though) for airfare, he has already told her not to visit. She has legal orders of visitation and he Kane Snyder (the so-called father) is already trying to prevent her from seeing the kids.

 

This is an ugly divorce and custody case.

BUT what it comes down to is that a female judge with no kids of her own has told an 11 year old girl that she must grow up 800 miles from her mother, who may or may not die from cancer.

I see you've been very active all along on the FB page for this, Lando.  This is in reputable news outlets, and the court ruling is reported there and is available for the asking of the proper authorities.  They aren't asking for much with the airline miles request, and scam potential is very low. 

I hope she can get some sane judgment before she gets too ill to benefit from such.
