Rep. Andre Carson(D-IN): Tea Party Wants to See Black Americans 'Hanging on a Tree'

And to think that our president said things would be different in Washington once he became president... I guess he was right, they are different, they are much worse now. How sad is it when our members of congress go around slandering groups of people, specially considering that there are plenty of black Americans in the Tea Party... several of them in leadership positions. If you want to disagree with a person or a party, fine, its your right to do that but when you have to make such outrageously false statements to try and make your point, your hurting your cause more then your helping it.

Democratic Rep. Andre Carson told a Miami crowd last week that the Tea Party movement would "love" to see black Americans "hanging on a tree."

The comment is the latest charged remark made by a member of the Congressional Black Caucus as lawmakers tour the country talking about jobs. Carson, D-Ind., lamented at the event that the Tea Party was stopping "change," in an effort he said was reminiscent of the "Jim Crow" era.

"Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class citizens," he said. "Some of them in Congress right now with this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree."

The remarks were captured in a recording posted on YouTube. Carson spokesman Jason Tomcsi confirmed the congressman made the comment at a CBC jobs event -- he said Carson was prompted by "the frustration" voiced by people about the inability of Congress to lift up the economy

"He believes that members of the Tea Party are ones that are standing in the way," Tomcsi told FoxNews.com. "He used the strong language because he believes that that agenda jeopardizes the most vulnerable."

The remark drew a rebuke from Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., the only black Republican in the Congressional Black Caucus, who said he's thinking about "reconsidering" his membership in the body in light of such comments.

"I think we should move away from using that type of language," West told Fox News, calling the remarks "reprehensible." He said some lawmakers are using the Tea Party as a "scapegoat" for broader problems.

This month, CBC member Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., also told a crowd that the "Tea Party can go straight to hell."

This is a concerted effort by the Congressional Black Caucus as this video illustrates:

I can't add much to the narrative included at youtube, except that MLK would be sickened by the CBC:

"Over the past few weeks, members of the Congressional Black Caucus (an organization that excludes people from joining based on skin color) held job fair town hall events across the country. Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) told the attendees of his event that members of the Tea Party in congress would like to see "us hanging on a tree". Carson is the congressman who started the myth that Tea Party protesters hurled racial slurs at he and Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) on the day of the ObamaCare vote."

Sure is alot of pent-up anger and hatred by these people to go around many times over, and it's senseless, and without any merit. The TEA Party wants financial restraint and a budget by government under control, balancing budgets the best way we can in these perilous financial times. There is nothing in their policies nor writings nor proposals that have anything to do with race baiting. These people's perceptions and talk is totally false, and leading to down-the-road protests and violence that is totally unacceptable. They are talking like a mob now, ready to riot, and if that momentum takes place, we will have the CBC to blame for it, noone else.

For the party of love and peace, the democrats sure do seem to have a lot of hate.

And everyone is still waiting for proof that anyone hurled any racial slur at Rep Lewis... $100,000 was offered for any video proof of the alleged slur and so far no one has come up with it. Not like there wasn't a ton of camera's around during the whole Obamacare thing. And really, even if one idiot had hurled a slur, to label the whole party as racist would of been silly. Be like back when the massacre in Arizona happened, the shooter apparently had democratic leanings according to some sources so are we going to label all democrats as crazy homicidal murders? No, were not... we got enough sense to know not to do that.

Carson and the liberals need to keep racism alive. That is their bread and butter when it comes to getting reelected. They are the ones who fan the flames of bigotry so they can have a purpose in life. These people are going to keep us in the dark ages and will not be satisfied until we are bankrupt financially and morally.
Thanks for the cherry on top of the ice cream Willie, well said.

Doesn't it plainly state in Rules fo Radicals, when you can't attack the message, attack the messenger?

This may sound far fetched, but, the game to be, keep the masses angry and and suspicious of one another and they will revolt. Create an enemy, ie, big banks, the rich,  big business, you name it (tea party, white) and you have a perfect scenario for riots. Causing the gov. to declare marshall law, and have to post pone the elections, there by creating a long term presidency. Happens in other country's , why not here? Oh, I'm sorry, I said president, I mean't , dictator. Doesn't sound to far fetched to me.
