The Place Where Ludington Talks
Actor John C. Reilly was here in Ludington today
Probably several of you won't recognize the name but probably a good
number of you have seen at least some of his movies. He's been in
several movies, specially over the last several years... movies you
might have seen him in include these:
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant
Step Brothers
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Those would be probably be the most familiar movies you've seen him although he's been in several others as well.
Anyway, as it turns out, he was in my place of work today doing some shopping. I
was lucky enough to have the pleasure of helping find what he was
looking for in my dept. before he moved on. He was pretty gracious to,
signing stuff for anyone that came up as well as getting pictures with
them. After he checked out, he was nice enough to sign the sleeve of the
Step Brothers DVD i'd just bought... and yes, he added the mustache to
his face... lol.

Who knows, everyone was kind of wondering what he was doing in town and of course I don't know if anyone asked him that... lol. Someone did ask him what he was doing at the store to which he replied with a smile "Shopping".

From what I been able to gather since yesterday, John does own some property near Pentwater so most likely he was just in shopping on a sort of crappy Michigan day during a vacation.

My favorite movie of his is For Love of The Game, which is also my favorite hackneyed Kevin Costner baseball pic. He was in a supporting role as the Detroit Tiger catcher Gus Sinski who caught and scored the winning and only run in Billy Chapel's (Costner's) final game. I am sooo glad umpire Jim Joyce wasn't in that movie-- though I am not going to spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.
As a sidebar, I googled to find who blew the call on Galaraga's perfect game. After typing just "umpire", the first two choices it automatically showed me was "umpire blows perfect game" and "umpire jim joyce" (try it). His infamy may just rise to the level of Bill Buckner's.
