Call me a racist if you wish...

But a  real but unreported observation has shown that around 30% of white NFL quarterbacks have been injured by black defensive players to the point of missing a substantial amount of playing time this season. (Missing 3 games to season ending injuries.)

The amount of black quarterbacks injured by either white or black players? 0.

Could the reason be to provide employment opportunities for Colin Kaepernick? Could this be a concerted effort to bolster Kaepernicks lawsuit? A lot of potential job openings from so many injuries. Talk about collusion.

The national media won't dare touch this issue.

Collusion or coincidence?

Interesting question shinbllind. It would probably help to know what the injury statistics are for previous years. If they are comparable to this year then it would be a non issue. However if this years statistics show a spike in injuries then we have a discussion. I imagine the fact that 66% of NFL quarterbacks are white really wrangles the diversity and equality crowd. Another factor would be how the injuries occurred. Were there penalties involved such as spearing, targeting,  unnecessary roughness, etc. which caused the injuries. I don't doubt for a minute that many players want Kaepernick to be signed by an NFL team and some of them may try to injure white quarterbacks but I don't think it's a concerted  effort by the players. Players want to protect their quarterbacks no matter what race they are because for the most part, winning takes precedent above all else.

So, in my opinion, the only way to determine if this is collusion or coincidence is to compare past injury stats with the current year.

Did a quick comparison but using last years entire season not the half way mark.  6 quarterbacks had significant injuries, 4 white and 2 blacks.  I didn't delve into who caused the injuries nor did I look at anything other than season ending injuries.

And I will grant you that since a majority of defensive player are black that they will be the cause of a majority of the injuries, but all of them?

And on last Thursday a black quarterback has made the list of those out for the season,  The  previous stats I had used didn't include that game.

On the other hand at the half season mark, there are more quarterbacks who have season ending injuries then there were all last year, 7 white and one black compared to 4 white and 2 blacks. Could that be a statistically anomaly  or a coincidence?

And as rarely admitted, in a moment of candor former Lions pro bowl  offensive tackle Lomas Brown claimed he intentionally missed a block so that Lions quarterback Scott Mitchel would be injured and have to leave the game. Brown later tried to recanted his statement after a public uproar. But it does happen on both the offense as well as the defense.

I don't believe there is a smoking gun so far as much as a smoking trend. But it will be interesting to see how this plays out for the entire season.

I'm not a football watcher , but in all the games that I seen , I don't ever recall a black quarter back. The first unwritten rule of the game  is to disable  the quarterback so it would seem correct most get injured.   So to you football fans, what teams have black quarterbacks?

10 out of 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL are black.
