In one of the more unusual political stories, Massa resigned but by no means was he going to go quiet apparently. After being elected he started doing a radio program. After hearing that he was going to be resigning late last week, the station didn't expect to have Massa come in for his show Monday. Not only did he come in but he started talking but kept on talking for about 90 minutes. Strangely enough, the democrat went after members of the current administration, blaming them in part for what happened and cited a argument with Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel that took place in a shower stall in the congressional gym. I don't know if Massa is crazy or telling the truth. Whatever he is, he got everyone's attention. If there is any truth to what he said, it could be trouble for a few administration members... we shall see!

One of the more bizarre stories of the political year comes to a close (the Democrats can only hope) today as soon-to-be former Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., submits his resignation.

The Upstate New York freshman is resigning under an ethics committee investigation into allegedly inappropriate behavior with a staff member, but he says he's being railroaded out of office by Democratic House leaders who want to "get rid of me because my vote is the deciding vote on the health care bill." At a meeting with reporters this morning, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., denounced Massa's charges as "absolutely, definitively untrue."

That has made Massa, who unseated a Republican congressman in 2008, a sudden political star. He's scheduled to give a live interview to conservative commentator Glenn Beck at 5 p.m. ET on Fox News. Later tonight, he'll be featured on Larry King's show on CNN.

It's hard to imagine that Massa will be able to outdo the incendiary allegations he made during a surprise Sunday appearance on WKPQ – POWER 105 in Hornell N.Y. You can listen to the 90-minute broadcast, which includes Massa's vivid description of a nude argument in the shower of the congressional gym with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, right here.

For those of you who don't have time, here's some of the good stuff:

* Massa, 50 and married, says he's a victim of rumors that he's gay.
* The congressman said he sometimes shared hotel beds with a male staffer to save money.
* The congressman calls Emanuel a "son of the devil's spawn."

Station manager Kevin White said that Massa has been doing a one-hour weekly Q&A since he was elected but that the station did not expect the congressman after hearing Friday that he intended to resign. Massa showed up and proceeded to rivet listeners -- and station personnel -- with a passionate self-defense that went 30 minutes longer than his usual show. "It was pretty emotional," White said.

Massa blamed political pressure and a health scare -- he's a cancer survivor -- for his decision to resign, but he acknowledged using inappropriate language to staffers. Traffic to the station's website is soaring, and calls are pouring in from local listeners -- most of them supportive of the congressman, White says.

We'll follow the story throughout the day, so check back for more episodes of As Your Congress Turns.

I heard some of that on Fox News last night. Sounds like someone who has been pushed too far by his party and is rebelling back into a true public servant. Mind-numbed leftists are probably talking into their wrist-phones and saying: "We got one that can see" (courtesy of the movie "They Live!").

More openness is what the people deserve from the government at all levels, and its always good to see Whistleblowers of any persuasion tell us what happens in the smoke filled back rooms.
I love "They Live!", that movie rocked!!

Edie says: More like "...Congressmen of dubious persuasion tell us what happens in mist-filled bath rooms."
Gorilla's In the mist? lol
Dave, I caught National Treasure on regular TV earlier tonight (I hadn't seen it since it was originally on video). Pretty good the second time around.
People are starting to call this the Massa Messa! , still think DADT is a good policy for the military too? Sailors delight or take warn?
