Seems like bad luck just follows some people around like stink on ...er...ah...a  deputy administrator.

Looks like  Shay has fell in it again.

"Township hopes biofilter puts end to sewer stink woes"

At least they got someone with experience on call.

Might I suggest a couple of cases of Febreze and putting Johnny Shay's number on speed dial.

Curious that everywhere John Shay goes, the stench of sulfur and foul corruption follows thereafter.   I can't recall offhand, but I think there's another well-known figure that has the same characteristic.  Now, who am I thinking of?

Ottawa County Deputy Administrator John Shay is using other experiences from his past stewardship of Ludington at his new job.  Mlive reports

"Shay said county officials began looking at updating security cameras in the jail, some of which are more than a decade old, before expanding the scope to most county buildings.
County officials decided to expand the scope largely to increase cost savings by bulk purchasing and have the same vendor install all the equipment, Shay said.
The cameras will not be placed in bathrooms or offices, Shay said."

John Shay was the same person who asked for $140 for 2013 VHS footage from the Waterfront Park bathroom cameras taken the previous week, so that a city official could edit out the naughty bits-- however, in a state police investigation, LPD Chief Barnett assured the investigators that the bathroom cameras had not been working for years.

So if Shay tells me that cameras won't be put in the public privies of Ottawa County, I think I will drive through and take a dump in the next county just to be safe.

Ha ha ha!  Maybe that's the point--to get people to do their duty elsewhere, then they have fewer bathrooms to clean in Ottawa.  What is surprising is that anyone would emphasize that security cameras won't be placed in bathrooms.  Duh?  Maybe Shay learned something from his experience in Ludington.  Too bad we paid him big bucks all those years to take his experience south while leaving us with a $50 million dollar infrastructure mess, maxed out in debt that won't be paid off for two generations.
