Hey XFLD

How many more days until you get a response from the Mason County Sheriff's Office regarding the Kayak Guy Affair?

I know they requested an extension. I hope the MCSO doesn't hide behind their skirts this time and claim  the BS excuse that it is an ongoing investigation.

The initial e-mail request was sent on March 16, which means it was received the next business day, which happened to be St. Patrick's Day, March 17.  No state holidays in that time period between then and now.

I include the extension letter sent on March 28 via E-mail (7 business days after their reception of it, in violation of the FOIA, which requires a response within 5 business days).  Your question is very timely, however, since today April 7, would mark the last day they can respond to the original request by FOIA law (i.e. five business days plus a ten business day extension, when asserted within the five days).

Will I get a response by day's end, or will they be like Alan Ross and paddle off to the south and say "I'm not showing you a police report, a$$hole."?  Where's my Goon Squad waiting on the Buttersville Peninsula when that law violation happens?

The response has not arrived yet, at the end of the next day.  Perhaps they sent it via snail mail, or simply forgot to respond in a manner consistent with the law, like they did for the extension.  One would think if you were involved in a solid five count FOIA lawsuit already as the Mason County Sheriff is with the same person requesting the mostly non-exempt material about kayak guy, that you would at least be timely and obey the law.

Whatcha hiding, Sheriff Kim Cole?  Certainly not your contempt for the public records laws of this state.

DAY 4

No Reply from Stonewalling Sheriff Kim Cole?

Still waiting....

DAY 5

Slow Kim Cole takes his time. It is not his money he is wasting.

Ex-sheriff Jeff Fiers would have had this out on time, Coleslaw is holding the bag now.

I got a sheriff's incident case report and a CD with videos today, postmarked April 12.  Looking through that now.

DAY 6

COLE CAPITULATES

The waiting game is over.

Maybe.

Depending on what information the Sheriff released.
