The news on the front page of yesterday's City of Ludington Daily News (COLDNews) mirrored the news in the Mason County Press, except that the COLDNews clarified that the victim was a 13 year old boy.

LUDINGTON —A Lansing-area attorney has been arraigned on charges of being sexually involved with a minor under the age of 13. David Anderson, 62, 446 Everett Dr., Lansing, was arrested by Michigan State Police and charged with two separate felony counts of criminal sexual conduct second degree, according to Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Spaniola.

Spaniola said the charges stem of two separate incidents that occurred last year at a hunting camp in Sherman Township, both involving the same alleged victim.

Anderson was arraigned in 79th District Court on May 1 and his bond was set at $15,000. He is scheduled for a preliminary examination on May 13 at 3 p.m.

While one should never presume someone is guilty just because a prosecutor is bringing charges against them or presume that a thirteen year old boy is incapable of lying about such things for a variety of possible reasons, Attorney Anderson does have more in his past that shows he has no aversion to trying to screw others while heading his own law firm:

David was hired by a consolidation of property owners along a right-of-way that divided real property, in order to acquire an ownership interest in the right of way. Subsequently, he filed a lawsuit on their behalf in their circuit court.

The judge originally assigned to the case recused himself from ruling on the case due to his ownership of adjacent property.  Shortly thereafter, Dave agreed to represent that same judge in obtaining an ownership interest in the right of way.

What he then did was represent both clients without disclosing the dual representation to the original complainants.  He knew at the time of settlement negotiations that the complainants were seeking full ownership of that part of the right of way that divided their property from the judge's property.  He was serving two parties who had different interests in the same lawsuit, and one could presume that he was serving the judge better than his original clients.

Barrister Anderson failed to disclose his representation of the judge’s interest in the right of way to his initial clients and continued the dual representation to their detriment  (Read more here).

Mlive, Lansing State Journal, Detroit Free Press all report boy was under 13.

You're right, Sally, I'm presuming it's probably another mistake found in the local paper.  This was disseminated more than likely to various news agencies by the sheriff's office/prosecutor so it's likely that's the truth.  Thirteen, or under thirteen, it's still pretty messed up, if true.

Hopefully, it's the last young buck he bags.

so what ever happened to this pedophile?

I'll try to check that out at the courthouse later today; I haven't seen what happened in the preliminary hearing, and it would be unlike an attorney to waive that when he is the one on trial facing severe penalties.

The preliminary hearing has been pushed back (as it often is) and some process has been waived, process which I couldn't tell what was from the court's computer records.  Chances are he's free on bond.

I just heard that yesterday this low life accepted a plea deal because he didn't want to go to the January 27 trial!   Felony Child Abuse; Jail!!!!    March 1 sentencing.

I'll try and verify that this afternoon.

Your info is correct.  The court records show a 'nolo contendere' plea on January 7.

Maybe he can be a pen pal to Subway's Jared who on second thought might to busy to write.

David Anderson gets 6 months for 'attempted child abuse'

I’m scared to death for all the other 12-year-old little boys out there,” the victim’s father said. “They and their parents are going to get no warning that a sexual predator is out there. You are going to be out and golfing in a few weeks.”

The man said that the incidents have devastated his family, cut them off from friends and left them “ripped apart.”

“I do not have the strength to accomplish the smallest task around my house,” the man said. “I just keep crying and asking God to take this from (the victim).”

Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Spaniola, in introducing the case, said the boy’s older brother brushed off an advance from Anderson in the year prior to the alleged assaults as well.

Circuit Court Judge David Shuster was the judge involved in Anderson's previous no-no involving right-of way issues.

They should have tattooed him like this then sent him straight to prison.

So, 162 days in the klink is it? No punitive restitution or victims rights fines, probation for 5-10 years, or anything else? Didn't see the LDNsnooze report it.
