I wonder if this was some premeditated plot to drop all the corruption and fraud onto Kay's lap?

Tonight, the city clerk unveiled what she had talked over with City Attorney Wilson and his 56 other law partners.  It sounds as if there will be held a special election concurrent with the November regular election that will allow all who get forty signatures of registered Ludington voters to run for that office.  No matter how many people apply, the winner of the most votes in that election will be the next mayor.

I am already invested in running for Third Ward Councilor, so I will not run.  I hope that we can get at least one choice outside the usual clique of city hall loyalists that will apply.  You, gentle reader, may be a good choice if you want to improve on the poor situation we have.

I would have to guess that the prerequisites of living in the city limits is still in force for this special election? If so, I'm out. But, I think there are some others that should run and hopefully, it's NOT one of the last candidates that ran against Cox. I wouldn't be surprised if Holman runs, she already said she wasn't ready to leave the council, and this would extend her overstay there already.

I believe that there is a fair chance of Holman running, she had aspirations just three years ago when the field was overcrowded.  I also would not be surprised if Brandy Henderson and maybe one other candidate running for Councilor-at-large, switches to try for mayor.  Maybe Pete Engblade will give it a try again.

Personally, I think my opponent in the Third Ward would make a good mayor and should give it a try.
