The winds that blew thru here yesterday revealed that either the new work done on the new boat ramp sea wall was shoddy or there was historic wave action in Ludington harbor. I’ve seen stronger winds and larger surf so it may be contractor related. Most of the landscaping and stonework was in shambles. Another big bill for taxpayers to empty their pockets over. It appears that who ever did the work knew little about wave action and the forces involved when large surf crashes into the harbor’s interior. The damage is pictured below.

when taking photos I noticed cars staying further back from the water than usual. I didn’t discover until today the reason for that. It seems that the waves were picking up rocks and hurling them at the vehicles. I wonder how many windshields were broken. Picture below

Wow!  I haven't seen rocks moved that far into the parking lot before from waves.

Good pictures Willy!  The last one is prettier than Taquamenon Falls.  I wonder if the "hurling rocks" is due to something breaking up, or from inferior rip rap installed?  Never saw that happen before.

Thanks FS. Those rocks were at the base of the old sea wall and were normally under water until the waves forced them to fly across the parking lot. When a wave came I bet nobody thought rocks would be in the wave. Ludington workers did a fast job of cleaning up the mess. The rocks were gone by this morning.
