I can't even describe how angry I am at Obama's regime and the Democrats. Everyone of them should be thrown out of office. What a slam and insult to the American people. Inviting the President of Mexico to come here and lecture us on the illegals. I have never witnessed such a display of arrogance and contempt for our country as displayed by Obama and Congress.

I know other foreign leaders have spoken before congress before and honestly, I don't care for them doing so. If they have something to say, just say it. Biggest reason Calderone is speaking out against the AZ law is money... he knows if the border's were locked down that a lot of money that is currently sent back to Mexico would stop.

I see it was just pointed out that AZ's law is actually a bit tougher as far as what reasons an officer can stop someone.... federal law does not require an officer to have a reason to stop a person while of course the AZ law does. The Supreme Court upheld this in '05. So I guess what would the protesters prefer.... federal law or AZ law?
"So I guess what would the protesters prefer.... federal law or AZ law?"

Dave I think they would prefer NO law, and to keep the border open.

Calderone is a hypocrite and should keep his opinions -- and himself -- on his side of the border.

Obama should...well I guess I am not going to go there.
And isn't it interesting that Michelle Obama's little chat with the school girl whose mother is undocumented came during Calderone's visit? I've said this before but I think it's worth repeating: Mexico needs to fix its own problems so its citizens will want to stay home!
I posted this in LT and even though I know I will be highly criticized for saying this, please understand this was personal experience.

I first learned about how we support illegal Mexicans back in the early 80's. Even then they bragged about free health care especially for those with chronic illnesses. It seems they could not get care like they got in nursing homes here. They even had a system. Bring someone in, leave them in ER and disappear. If they were admitted, someone would come to the floor saying they were looking for a friend. Next thing you know, they'd be talking to the unknown "amnesia" patient in spanish and leave.

They also bragged out USA superior FREE education tailored to their anchor babies plus welfare. They worked without having to report any income because payment is in cash. They bragged they were able to send over 80% of their money back to Mexico and continue to live better than they did "at home". Many illegals are support entire communities(families) with their cash wages earned illegally here in USA. We lost the stimulus revenue(they spend very little to nothing here in USA), we lost the tax base and we lost the census numbers.

At least that's how it was when I worked in hospitals in Kalamazoo and then in Holland in the late 70's and early 80's. So of course the Mexican president is angry at Arizona for making it possible to arrest illegals.

I speak from personal experience again, but I know some will belittle the truth as it was in 1982. I post this because America needs to realize these people were laughing at us then already.
Masonco
There is nothing to criticize. People who care about this country and know the truth about what is happening will agree with you no matter what political side of the fence they are on. I to have similar experiances with illegals. They told me that America has more than it needs and they should be able to have what they want.
Thank you guys. As you know, I've been told I'm profiling and being biased because I spoke of personal experience. I am no longer following that thread. Reason does not exist and it appears some people think it is great that the government supports illegals and not their own people in true need.

Sadly, the illegals work because Americans will not work for cash for $3 an hour. They believe it is high wages and it is for them.

Even those who come here on work visa's are grossly underpaid. As I mentioned before, every foreign therapist I've worked with is paid 1/3 (or more) less than new American grads. I can't get full time work because of my age and because they can bring these undereducated foreign workers for much less pay.
Hmm why are you following me around every forum where you can find me?

Shakes head and says to self...I pity Disarm for not understanding real life examples are exactly that...real life experiences...nothing more, nothing less.

I do forgive Disarm for feeling it necessary to twist my simple sharing of life experiences (from the early 1980's) into false rumors and false stories.

Disarm...I do not care how you feel. I know the truth even if you refuse to accept it. I rarely give opinions, just share facts 99% of the time.
Masonco, there's no reason to challenge what occurred in 1982 just because it was in 1982; if anything, I think the only difference between then & now is that the illegals have found even more inventive ways to scam the system, & Washington is more eager to help them do it.

Some will always belittle the truth just because it IS the truth & not one that they wish to face. We cannot change their way of thinking, no matter how many facts & statistics we bring forth.... all we can do is continue to follow AZ's example & try to create state laws that will fix the problems that the feds have decided to ignore.
It amazes me that factual experience can be twisted into the idea of discriminating. Some people only read what they want and twist things but essentially make themselves look foolish.
You said:
Get rid of the illegals, but do it for the right reasons

I did not realize you are that anti-illegals.
------------------------------------------------
That is how the truth from personal experiences gets twisted into false assumptions. But again I forgive you for your false statements about me by doing what my example above the line showed. The only difference is I did not mean that (evidence I crossed it out) except to show you how one sentence can be taken out of context and twisted into an agenda as you appear to be doing.

But I DO FORGIVE YOU DISARM!
Why do I have to defend real life experiences? That is where I think you are wrong that and making false statements about me based on what you want to believe.
I never said those illegals were not treated. Actually they received better treatment that you or I would They always had a private room b/c they only spoke Spanish. Their care was better than they would get at a 5 star hotel.I said they stayed in hospital 6 minimum because no nursing home could take them until the hospital social workers were able to cut the red tape and get them a permanent visa because Mexico rejected their return so OUR tax $$ can pay for them.

Finally, don't say things about me when you know nothing about my circumstances. I choose to take care of those I love rather than pay over $5000 a month to a skilled care facility. When he has a good day, I work outside the home as on call employee. I figure I am breaking almost even by working a couple days a week and saving the $5000 a month cost to a skilled care facility.

Don't condemn me for not going the "easy" route, by divorcing DH when he was first diagnosed 6 years ago with Alzheimer's so he can get FREE medicaid coverage at a skilled care facility in a year or two. Even at home, his care has used up almost all our life savings since Medicare does not cover many of his treatment needs.

Again, I forgive you for your false assumptions which became outright lies about me. I do have a bachelor's degree in business plus a degree in health care, so it is not that I'm unskilled. It was just offered a traveler position out of state I can take if you want to come and take care of DH. He does wander at night, set fires or tries to drive the car with or without keys. He gets combative if he is determined to harm something or someone.

Hey wait his condition sounds like one of those illegals(Juan) who was dumped at a large hospital downstate that had to house him in a private room for 18 months until they could obtain a special "abandonment" visa to place him in a skilled locked facility for free except that Juan .just had dementia with wandering, hitting, and yelling. Can you add up the cost of 18 months of hospital room and board for a private room at a large hospital in a large town downstate? Again this really happened in the 80's. Yet you think less of me than of those who dumped Juan even though Juan got better than 5 star hotel VIP treatment? Juan had 18 months of a specially trained spanish speaking caregiver with him 24 hours a day which the hospital was required to pay for.
