A question for my Torch friends please. Still sorting through rumors but rumor has it, wind turbine parts have been spotted on the Badger. Another rumor, soon to be clarified is construction is actually underway somewhere in Mason County. I have been assigned a photo journalistic task and wonder if anyone has seen anything? Thanks in advance.

Does anybody know what the capacity of the carferry is for passengers and what the capacity is for vehicles?  Could the discount for any amount of people without vehicles be a method to attract more people and fewer cars?

Aquaman, maybe your friend should bring along a bicycle to do his business in Wisconsin.  Consider, it only costs $6 extra each way, and Michigan law does not classify a bicycle as a vehicle (MCL 257.4, et. al.).  That way, they can get their round trip discount, experience the beautiful countryside of Wisconsin, and get some exercise.

If they are not willing to commit to do so, maybe we see some of the reasons for the divorce, LOL.

Please get your story straight about hardship and stop drifting to and fro like an anchorless boat tossed around by the waves.  Either is was or it was not hardship.  You sound like a miserable disgruntled person yourself.  How many phone calls did you two make to get 5 different rate quotes?   If I actually believed your story that the VP really was rude as you claim then it is anybody's guess what you did to initiate it.   Learn how to use the internet and get an accurate published rate.  While you are at it, there are dozens of fine testimonials about the carferry elsewhere on the internet.

A sample of some of the great carferry reviews posted on the internet.

I watched a 200+ ft. truck/trailer combination exit the ferry and I snapped a few photos. I will post them when I get a chance.

According to Wikipedia the SS Badger's capacity is - 620 passengers, 180 automobiles, also tour buses, RVs, motorcycles, and commercial trucks. It makes sense that they would offer specials to try and increase passenger occupancy.

Black EyE better just stick to the wind turbine issues, the reservations/courtesy department on the Badger is way over your Big CIty Head. Nice try though to be evasive and trite.

X, he had over 100 miles from Manitowoc to travel each way, with another new wife,  he's not an Olympian cyclist like you, but good thought.

New wife?!  Why can't she ride him on her back all the way then?  LOL

I would then think the cruise plus a car rental would be the best way to go.  You can rent one in Manitowoc for under $70 a day.  If they have to stay overnight, the newlyweds could bring a tent along for extra savings, and go rustic.  He just may need to save all the money he can.

Thank you for the passenger and vehicle capacity information Lisa O'Brien.
