The Debt Ceiling Fiasco

Here we are, days away from defaulting on our debt and of course all our beloved politicians can do is dink around with their thumbs up their butts. I'll give republicans at least a little credit in that they have at least put some sort of plan up for consideration. Where still waiting for democrats to put something out there.. you'd think with the deadline so near that they would have something to show. Anyway, this is of course bringing out more of the usual BS that our beloved politicians are known for... in particular, President Obama. 5 years ago he was 100% against raising the debt ceiling because as he put it, it was a "failure in leadership" and that "we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies" and also "Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better"... now though, it seems his tune has changed completely. I so hate it when politicians play politics... makes me sick.

Obama pretty much stayed out of the fray back when he was a senator, more likely to vote 'present' than anything else, so when he did make some comment back then, it was usually some dis against GWB.  Now, he pretty much advocates what he spoke out against then.  I have yet to see President Obama do anything apolitically.

The Democrats caused this current fiscal mess and the Republicans are trying to adress the problem but are being stonewalled by the President and current Democratic leaders. All the more reason to get this socialist Democrat Congress and President out of Washington asap.
