I'm sure by now that most all of you have heard about the 17 year old Florida teen that was killed by a member of a local neighborhood watch in Sanford, FL. In case you haven't though, I'll give a brief rundown of what happened... Trayvon was staying his dad's gf who sent him out to the local 7-11 to pick up a bag of Skittles and a drink. On the way back, George Zimmerman who helps out with the neighborhood watch program sees Trayvon and calls 911 to report a suspicious person.. during the call Zimmerman is asked by the 911 operator if he's following Trayvon to which Zimmerman said he was, the operator tells him he doesn't need to, that their is a patrol car on the way. At this point, something happens which we really don't know yet and Trayvon ends up being shot by Zimmerman and ending up dead.. this happened about a month ago.Zimmerman claims that he was defending himself and so far, other then some questioning, has not been arrested or detained in the case.
Fast forward to this week, now we have all sorts of parties trying to take advantage of the situation, sadly. Most annoyingly, the usual race baiters are out and about and inflaming a situation that could get out of hand rather quickly. You see, the biggest problem here is when you throw in the race baiters and the name of the shooter, George Zimmerman, you would assume that this was a white gentleman shooting a black kid... but... that's not the case as far as race goes, Zimmerman is actually Hispanic with a bit of African American in him too. Some of the race baiters have still made this a black/white issue which obviously it isn't.. heard audio myself of someone talking about the black man striking down this poor black youth.
What is really missing from all of this is what should be the first and foremost important thing.... what actually happened. For the most part, the police haven't really released much information at all as far as I know. There have been a few supposedly eyewitness reports that there was a fight of some sort between Zimmerman and Martin but again, nothing official. The reality is now is that unless the police arrest Zimmerman, things could get nasty very quickly. Problem is, if Zimmerman is actually innocent and was defending himself, the race baiters are going to go balistic and again, god knows what will happen. It's entirely possible though that Zimmerman could be guilty of something... be it minor or major.. as there have been reports of him using racial slurs in the past.
In the end though, this is a pretty unique situation, solely because its a black on hispanic crime. It will be interesting to see how this case turns out!

The Rev. Sharpton was in Miami Sunday, for another one of his famous rallies. This time, as seen on TV, he told demonstrators, "it's been 40 days now, and no justice has been done, it's time to kick it up a notch". Not hard to imagine that he's calling for riots in the streets. On a more sound and reasonable note: the parents were interviewed Sat. night and have called for the calm peaceful reasonable wheels of justice to get answers and actions, without violence.
Sharpton and Jackson do not deserve to be addressed as "Reverend". They are disgraceful compared to those individuals who are the true "men of the clothe. Those that promote peace, love, justice, harmony and good will.
Well, as we all know by now, Zimmerman has been charged with 2nd degree murder, falsely, and with malice. All thanks to an Obama DOJ overseer that is determined to see that justice is betrayed, for the sake of political correctness. Meanwhile, we also saw a 3 hour bond hearing, that which was longer than any known in recent history. And yes, the bond was set finally at $150K. Then came Zimmerman in a polite, objective, and astute manner to apologize to the family for this tragedy, that which was thrown back in his face as not serious, but aloof by Trayvon's parents, out for vengeance and publicity. As we have also seen, a video of the original questioning did NOT show the injuries suffered by Mr. Z by Trayvon. And the circus continues today, with Trayvon's picture as a 12 year old child being circulated when he was a 17 year old young adult, one that was suspended from school at the time of this incident, for the 3rd time this school year for mischief and misbehavior.
It's amazing how many people have already tried and convicted Zimmerman in this case. Go to like the USA Today website and read a story about either Zimmerman or Martin and you see many people posting that they are outraged that Zimmerman got out, that he's a killer, suggesting he's going to go out and kill again... its insane. Heaven forbid we wait to see and hear any and all evidence in the case. More then likely he'll get convicted of something, could be something minor or something major although I get the sense that getting him for 2nd Degree Murder might be tough, specially with the lack of witnesses (granted that could work against him too).
Reading those comments though makes me hope I don't have any people like that on a jury if I ever got in trouble... not that I'm planning to of course.
Dave keep the cuckoo in the clock and you won't have to worry about a jury of your peers. Honestly you can't be sure of any conviction look at OJ and Casey Anthony.
Of recent, Zimmerman was brought into court on the charge of 2nd degree murder, he was in chains and shackles, which I think was way over the top. I also note here that the Justice Dept. or some other high authority has also lodged charges of a hate crime now. This definitely will severely impact the outcome of this trial, in the negative, and also raise Zimmerman's former bail to an amount that will certainly remand him to jail for months ahead when the amount is announced, if not already. The Feds have no right to interfere in this case imho, but still have steadfastly stuck it's nose into it for political gains for Obama.
I saw somewhere there was medical evidence that Zimmerman had injuries. As for political gain for Obama? I'm not so sure about that one. There were a lot of negative comments on him judging before facts were released.
When Z was released originally, he went to a doctor for his injuries. It will be his Drs. sworn testimony and fact that he sustained a broken nose, severe cuts to the rear of his skull, and a black eye, not to mention other scrapes/scratches. Does this sound like a hate crime now? Or 2nd degree murder? The right to stand your ground law is part of our second amendment rights, that of to bear arms, for self-preservation, as forefathers intended it be used.
I fear they will say it was self inflicted unless mug shots show injuries.
What really should be in the front of the line for the big media is the beating of Kelly Thomas in Fullerton California. What a shameful massacre by the cops. Never heard of it?, not surprising but the videotape of the killing took ten months to be seen by the public. It was not pretty. If you want to see the full version it's out there.
