So, what's your point, BigDave? Shouldn't you have been out earning a living at 3:17 p.m. today instead of posting this? Do you have nothing better to do than try to discredit another. What's your work history like? Have you never been down and out or left a job because it did not work out for you? If not, you must be one helluva perfect human being!
I don't think it's in Dave's nature to discredit someone harshly, he probably just did it for a joke. And to show the internet postings of public officials pics. isn't illegal, as some have suggested. Anyhow, they are all quite a handsome bunch, and look great in dress uniforms too. Dave's been posting real late nite and early wee hours these days. I presume he's probably working a 3-11 or 4-12 shift afternoons, it could be his day off today too, who knows. I saw him about 7pm one nite back in Nov. 2009.
As I've said, my names not impossible to trace (particularly when it was given in confidence to the Lakeshore Soup Creator) and anyone with minor investigatory training can find it, given all the clues to my past I routinely post. I do find it as a violation of my privacy, and a very public admission of what a bad site administrator he was, to have my name mentioned here; this is roughly the fourth time he has posted it, when I have chosen anonymity.
Aqua, I don't think this is "our" Dave. I think it's another imposter, posing as our Dave. This kind of stuff is so childish. These people need a life!
Quite right again Mary, "our Dave" is a great guy to converse with. He doesn't need false sensationalism to be attractive and popular, but we know some/one that does. His like is on a treadmill leading to jail soon, then, we can have some peace and harmony again. If this stuff really gets to you too much, turn on another forum for a couple days. But don't leave us altogether Mary, we love and need you here for the long run too. Thanks.
Glad to see that you all know me well enough that i'd never post something like this :-)
Pretty sad that our Soup friends have nothing better to do then to try and post here and cause trouble. The Soup must be so miserable these days that they need to resort to this sort of stuff.
I was at least out and about today, enjoying the weather.. felt good to be out driving with the windows down a little bit to let that fresh spring air in.
Well, okay. I'll bite. I took two walks today - one during my lunch hour and one after dinner. The sun does wonders for breaking up the winter cobwebs between the ears.
P.S. The exercise will keep me from looking like that photo posted today on our forum.
Dumb question for firefrighters/firefighters of LFD persuasion: how come some of the guys, majority, have badges on their caps, while others have none? Seniority? Special classes? Just curious. How come two guys have tan colored caps, the others black/navy blue? Then there's the stripes on the jacket sleeve, some blue, some silver or white, then gold too, plus the number of stripes must designate superiority I assume. There's also badges over the jacket heart area on some, others none, and yet others have bigger badges than others. Thanks.

Great observation skills Aq. This picture was taken in 2002, I believe.
The white (looks tan) caps are the chief and the assistant chief; the absence of badges on some caps is just an indictment of us not having enough 'badge caps' at the LFD at the time, though those with seniority usually grab the available ones first, or might badger a probie for theirs.
There is a limited amount of dress uniforms, so the stripes on sleeves may not be consistent, but normal FF generally have one blue stripe (some have none), lower officers have one white stripe, the captain has two, Asst. chief three, and the chief four.
Chest badges were also insufficent for all to have then, and apportioned like the hat badges, and some differed in size from others. Since this picture, they have gotten more hardware and suits, and uniformity should be better for the next picture.
