After Painting Himself Into a Corner and Losing All His Allies, NOW Obama Looks to Congress!
As an excuse to back down, that is...
then blame the Republicans, of course

After days of talking VERY publicly of all the terrible things he could do to Bashir Assad's odious regime in Demascus... Russia's sent 6-7 warships in and told him to back off while France scampered and the Brits said 'pass'. All of a sudden now he wants to ask Congress, please.

Either somebody warned Obama he's opening himself up to impeachment with another violation of the war powers act... or he simply realized he's been abandoned or opposed by just about everybody on Earth, including the UN.

The Peace Prize president tries to go on the warpath and the effort collapses with a resounding thud... time to blame the Republicans, what else. I've never favored aiding Al Qaeda in Syria -as Obama would like to do- but whatever just happened over the last week makes this country appear absolutely feckless... clueless... and leadership-less.

It at minimum buys him time while he slithers away from this humiliating leadership implosion by the Obama Administration- the pivot towards Capitol Hill establishes a timetable that could drag on for weeks.

I never thought I could be so embarrassed to be an American... the Russians must be laughing their ass off.

If the Great Articulator can’t be bothered to articulate why we should send our men and missiles into battle, who we would helping and why, and clear goals and exit strategies, he has got no business getting involved in Syria.  When will our leaders, both parties, understand that this kind of crazy talk and possible military actions do not endear us to the rest of the world, particularly when we are almost arbitrarily choosing sides.

He seemed all gung ho to get things going, sounding like he wanted to do this as soon as possible... and then says that he's going to wait for congress to come back next week. If it was that important, he should of asked the congressional leaders to call their members back now and proceed. I'm definitely getting the sense that the Syria policy isn't to good.

I think his alligator mouth overrode his hummingbird a$$ and his ego was hurt. How dare anyone

think they can ignore this boy king?

According to everything I've been hearing, this country is now the joke of the ME. Even our allies over there, are now realizing that we can't be counted on. Just look at all the ground we've lost in Iraq, what a waste of our military and money.

Oh yeh, how many remember all those trucks leaving Iraq before the shock and ahh  ?  After word they were no WMD's to be found   in Iraq, it all went to Syria
