I was out riding my bicycle on this nice October day by the residence of a lady I know.  She is beautiful, yet simple; she is the ward of a guardian, whose decisions are made for her.  She was adopted long ago with strict rules given by the parents as to how she was to be taken care of.  Recently, her guardianship has changed and the rules were mostly forgotten.

I noticed a truck that belonged to a friend of the new guardian.  Concealed by some nearby foliage, I seen him taking advantage of her.  Before I could do anything, I saw two more of the guardian's friends drive their vehicles up to her place, and they got out and joined in the assault.  I wanted to call 911, but knew the guardian was a co-worker and a very good friend of the local police chief, who would allow this to continue.  I sneaked off, disgusted, and went home to get my camera, so as to chronicle the nasty development to help her in the future.

When I got back, the vehicles had left and this poor lady was hurting.  She had multiple cuts all over her body, and they had even spray painted her all over. It looked painful and I took pictures of the hurt they had inflicted on her.  Before I could even think of doing more, they came back and brought some more friends with them.  The anguish I felt with not being to help this lady was great, but I went away while they came back at her.  Once again they assaulted her, cutting her up, damaging her beyond immediate repair.  I took more pictures of the carnage, but they paid little attention to me-- they knew I couldn't help her out, and they had weapons.

They continued this for the rest of the afternoon, cleaned up a little bit afterwards, and left.  I consoled her afterwards, but knew there was little I could do to help her before they would come back again and do worse to her.  Tomorrow the raping will continue.

I just have a sense of humor. I know... hard to find on a forum these days. Just thought I'd share a little laugh! :)
My stand on the park hasn't and isn't going to change. I'm still bustin my "dupah" with the rest of the committee to get it done before the snow falls. But I do respect all of the opinions that have been shared. I'm all about doing things by the book!
AQ, I have no clue what you just said there (in the JFYI comment) but it made me laugh. hehe
Makes me laugh today too, sometimes I get off on a path of obsurdity, and need to be reeled back in like a fish-man. Har.
Those people coming after you with nets, might not be mistaking you for a fish, Aq.

I am glad to see that the acre has not been cleared, just cleaned up a bit at this point, as per Jen's earlier assurances. Aquaman's point about the Cartiers is a good one. Would they or their heirs approve? Were they consulted? Was a use like this somehow restricted in their agreement with the citizens of the city?

Why did Ludington Government Official Joe Moloney do the bargaining with the city government committees and councils? If the DPC is a private group as stated ad infinitum, why isn't he being reprimanded for this? Why doesn't he contact me and set me straight, if my concern is off somehow?

I need more information. I am sending out a Freedom of Information request to the FOIA coordinator for the City, to get more info on their involvement. Jen, if you want to volunteer any more information to make things clearer for me or for our members, I welcome it, but it likely won't make me believe that the process had legitimacy.
There wasn't any bargaining with the city. They came forward and said they wanted to provide the land... and each DPC member spent some time with the city, at meetings and outside of meetings, providing them with sketches and our research.

I gave you Joe's phone number. The ball is in your court. If you have Q's, he's willing to answer them. So CALL HIM!!!! :) He's expecting you. We don't have your name or phone number, so how are we supposed to contact you?

I'm not sure what sort of info you're looking for. All of the city meeting minutes are online, aren't they? Most of our meetings were with the parks committee. The only city meeting we had was the one where they approved the park.
I think last I knew X was related to Fire Marshall Bill, Fire Marshall X, easily found on facebook and googled on the internet. Now quit teasing X, and CALL JOE NOW!
Jen,

But there was bargaining-- that's how this covenant was made. And if you say the DPC didn't bargain with the city, that means the city (which includes Joe Moloney) may have made these decisions in private meetings, in violation of the Open Meetings Act.

When you say 'the city' you use it to describe the council or its subcommittees, who were never in a position to provide this land to you, or set it aside or donate it, et. al.

The city subcommittee meetings minutes are not available on-line. The public meeting minutes on the dog park in March 2009 are not even readily available without some FOIA digging. This meeting was pretty much just about why we needed the dog park, not the nitty-gritty details of exactly where to put it and how to acquire it. And these are the points I contest at the present location.

Joe has the option of joining the Ludington Torch and divulging any information he wants to give about this park or anything in his defense out here in the public or by sending a message to me. Or doesn't he like public discussions?

Even though I would like some questions answered and welcome his input, I will not call him, as this may eventually go to court and I don't want him to attribute something I supposedly said in a phone conversation erroneously to me. Besides, I don't innately trust elected officials anymore, particularly one that works for Ludington and has seemingly violated a cardinal rule of ethics.

The ball is in his court now.

Yesterday I sent out a FOI request to the city FOIA coordinator to get everything they got on this, including the original agreements with the Cartiers and the Stearns'.
Okay - I've tried to help - but seriously... if you only want to communicate on a website, I'm done.

We'll all be at the park Saturday morning at 9am to finish clean up. Stop by. Once I see a real person with a real name, I'll take you seriously. Right now, I just see this forum as a waste of my time.

If you're serious about this, then be a man (or woman) and confront us without a "mask" on. Are you gonna show up in court wearing a paper bag that says "XLFD"? You know who I am. I am not wasting any more of my time with this conversation until I know who I am talking to.

End of story.
I have a nice pumpkin suit I can put "XLFD" on, thank you very much!

Who's wearing a mask and hiding in the corners, Jen? I have contacted the LDP web site 3 or 4 times as early as January, leaving my concerns and personal E-mail, asking questions and wanting replies. Never got any. I've contacted public officials concerning this, with my god-given name.

The City Manager and City Attorney both are aware of my concerns, but they have never replied to them. Joe Moloney, I would have to believe knows my real name at this point; if not he can just ask his buddies in 'the city' for it, my E-mail, and my address.

My real name is found within here, and you've figured out how to get a private message to me without knowing it.
I told you already - the email on the site was wrong and we didn't get your emails.

I'm not going to spend all day looking for your name. If you can't give it to me - that's fine. I'm done playing forum games. This is getting juvenile.
Jen,

How convenient about the E-mails. Nearly a year, and no one catches this glitch. My site works, and I will respond to anyone's legitimate concerns. If you want some juvenility, let me remind you:

You've wasted more time with this conversation after you said you weren't going to.
You kid's quit arguing, and come to the table of peace and harmony, I would ask. All this over a Public Dog Park? XC'mon, is it a high priority compared to the rest of the social climate of unfixed roads and sidewalks, untrimmed trees/shrubbery, no life guards, no building inspector, no real city attorney, and not even local, plus doubled in pay last year, no treasurer till November, maybe, just a sit-in, taxes and user fees all extended into the double-digit increases, private wells in town grandfathered in terminated, secret slush funds into the $Millions by trial balance statements, and the list goes on. Take your own gal's advice, throw the little fish back!
