The truth about slavery in America

Blacks have a far better chance of having a slave owner in their family tree than the vast majority of whites but liberals continue to play the race card and guilt trips on whites to bring them in line. Liberals have masterfully  played on white guilt. Until America can accept the truth about slavery we will forever be at the mercy of race baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barrack Obama who continue to play on American guilt and who will continue to use that for political gain.

    While it's true that other Africans captured a large amount of the slaves , and that the first slave owner in America was a black man, that doesn't mean that white people aren't at fault for slavery. The slavers sold their slaves to, mostly, white Europeans in the different colonies through out the Americas.

Almost all black slaves were captured and sold by black slavers. If it wasn't for the blacks the slave trade would never have gotten as big as it did. X is correct. There was a thriving white slave trade initiated by Muslim slavers around the time blacks slavers were kidnapping blacks and selling them to whites slavers. A serious circle jerk of human trafficking which involved more than just white people but which liberals  either fail to understand or purposely  ignore. This allows them to put whites on the political agenda as the White Devil even though only a tiny portion of whites owned slaves. Everything that has happened to blacks is blamed on white people. When Trayvon Martin was killed by a Hispanic White, the liberal news media and black activists focused on the white side of his killer. If the killer had been all Hispanic we would never have heard of his murder. If you believed the race baiters you would think America was still a slave colony.

Willy, starts out the new year with a provocative post.  Slavery has existed since before biblical times, each race has enslaved their own race at one time or another.  This video attributes the rise of the modern slave trade to Arab-African Muslims, it is not alone as a source.

William, if you want to pay for things others did years ago. Go right ahead. I've done my geaneoligy back to 1500 and, no slave owners.

If you check back thru history in the US, you'll find the Irish were mistreated as badly, if not worse, in the 19th century. The slaves were worth money and the Irish were not.

Read my posted comments if you seek an explanation and I am glad you have no guilt about slavery but I was not addressing you personally when I posted this topic. I was speaking about white America in general.

     While it's also true that Irish Americans experienced one of the worst bigotries in our history as a nation, I would go out on a limb and say the capturing, selling, abusing, mutilating, and enslavement of people on the African continent was far worse.

EyE, are you endorsing the idea of slavery in this day and age?  As Abraham Lincoln said: 

"Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally." 

Involuntary servitude is bad and always has been for the human condition.

Your welcome Eye but I think you stepped into it with your slavery may have been a good thing comment. It would be to easy for me to jump on that comment, so I'll let X, who is much better than I at idea expressing, explain why what you said may not have been considered politically correct.

I don't know, EyE.  You say slavery may have been more good than bad-- then question (with four question marks) that what you said is somehow self-evident-- then dig your hole further by saying how great it was to be a slave, when some of our current workers (who have the freedom to change jobs or stop working at any time) have it so rough today. 

I'm okay to let your comments speak for themselves, because without clarification they show a lot of insensitivity and shallowness on your part over the slavery issue, with all due respect to your opinions.

Also, I'm clueless as to your reference in any accredited Bible to the disciples being slaves to Christ.  When I read that and add on your tacit acceptance of slavery, I worry about you.  Have you joined some kind of cult where the head priest has conditioned you to believe such drivel?  Or do you purvey it yourself as some kind of anti-pope?
