Roman, please don't get upset with any of us for asking, and trying to determine the laws and truths here. Fact is, you're a refreshing new inside political voice that can help us see when and where we might be wrong, there's always room for truth and clarification of law. I do think X has you on a couple of points, but your points are also valuable. Thanks, keep up the banter, it's interesting and educational at the same time.
With all due respect Wanda, I can't figure what you're trying to say half the time. I never said anything about those particular taxpayers saying they are not getting their monies worth, just the abstaining public at large, which is the majority of people. Just answer these two questions: 1)why did you vote aye for a new cat ordinance to be approved for first stage wording? or whatever you guys want to label/call it? and 2) why don't you get involved in the motions/sending back to committees/seconding motions/anything? I watched the camera, and I know you're a freshman yet, but you should be representing your ward with more vigor and participation. Don't let the bullies get you down, be polite and involved so we can see you are doing the good job I know you want to do. Thanks. Gotta get back to GB game now. Later.

Sorry, Roman, but if you are indeed part of a public body, I think you are sadly misinformed about the OMA.  If you and your confederates believe that salaries can be discussed at 'closed sessions' of Open Meetings, you guys have been violating the law and not serving the common interest.

The closest you can get to that is by discussing negotiation strategy with collective bargaining units.  Here is the law; as always you can present any counter-arguments.

If township board members are being paid $320 for a two hour meeting, then they aren't serving the public, they're exploiting it.  I pay $240 for this platform per year, primarily to show government waste, corruption, and infringements; work hours per day in research and compilation, pay unlawful FOIA fees, and have to hire lawyers to fight off the blowback from the public officials.  But no one ever mentions the hours upon hours I put in to represent the 'public'.  Just a thought...  LOL
