After our first ten days on the airwaves, the Ludington Torch officially enters its second year tonight, LOL. After our city drops the ball once again (pun intended), we already see quite a few things on the horizon for us as a group, and I will start off with some of those topics:
1) The off-shore wind farm: For or against it, this topic will affect all of us in the Mason-Oceana area, and landholders beyond.
2) The use and abuse of public money: Why does the City of Ludington, and other local gov'ts, continue to raise taxes and fees deep into a recession?
3) The nature of the complaint: In a multi-part episodic format, I will publicly divulge the origin of XLFD and how laws and the rights of an individual have been violated by the City of Ludington and the Mason County Court system. Concurrently, I will be battling both entities via the legal system. A cautionary tale about what could happen to anyone around here.
4) The most inconceivable crime: A tale or two about baby-snatching in our area by the influential and powerful.
5) David v. Goliath: The struggle between the large corporate/local gov't-friendly Shoreline Media, Inc. and its Talks franchises and the small, independent, mom-and-pop, free forum, local websites like us.
I extend my sincerest welcome and appreciation for all those who have joined (the 18 '2009 members') and those who will join. This site will continue to be relevant and worthy of the people if you can add your own energy to the flames of the torch!
