Earlier last week Obama visited a Volt plant, talking about what a nice car it was and that he sat in one but the Secret Service wouldn't let him drive it.
The end of last week, Chevy announces they are closing the Volt plant for 5 weeks I think it is which in effect puts the employees on lay off for that amount of time. They say the move was made so that sales could catch up with production.
I wouldn't be surprised if the lay off last even a little longer then 5 weeks as sales have been sluggish on the vehicle so far.
I don't think Chevy will hire Obama to be a spokesman for the Volt.. lol.

If people want electric cars here are a some one of which the phoenix company has been out for a few years. The general public it seems to be blind to the number of electrics out there and assume the Volt is something new..
phoenix motor cars (which I have known about for a few years)
I'd love to have a Tesla... of course the $100,000 price tag leaves it a little out of my price range. One of the nicest things about the Tesla vehicles is that it can get quite a bit more distance on a charge then most electric cars... I wanna say around 300+ miles where some of course are lucky to get 40 or 50 miles out of a charge. And of course the Tesla's look cool:
