So this is going around facebook - seems the Reed family wants the corruption to stay in officer longer!!! not good

"On behalf of the Committee for a Stronger Ludington, my dad and I are circulating petitions, which would allow for an addition to the August 7th ballot. The committee’s goal is to extend the City of Ludington term limits from 3 to 5 terms. We have great momentum and positive energy in our leadership and it is important to keep the movement progressing forward! Help us get the issue on the ballot and stop by our Ludington gallery by Friday at 5pm to sign the petition in support of a Stronger Ludington! We are open from 10am-6pm. Here's my question: what qualifies Brad Reed or Barry Neal to decide what is in Ludington's best forward momentum interests? What specific type of expertise do they have in higher education, ethics, public policy, hands-on experience, or constitutional government? Methinks NONE! And as such, these Bozo's need to be ignored, and ashamed of themselves.

so how do we stop this from happening besides having people not sign the petition?  If someone could make up a flyer or something that short and sweet stating why this petition shouldnt be signed - email it to me & i can print some off at WSCC and maybe we can hand them out to people and other business?  I am in the mist of my final weeks of school/finals so cannot do this myself........

I am guessing that the actual effort to get the 300 or more signatures has been an ongoing effort done discretely.  If this petition is filed, the public records concerning it will be fully reviewed by the Ludington Torch prior to any vote.

It would be interesting to see if such a guess is correct X, esp. if the petition arrives shortly now just after the announcement, time will tell. We also know, and I have stated this before, that such moves in local politics usually come at a very busy time for people, that of the height of summer, July or August, and Xmas/blizzard weather. Dovetailing that, we recently saw where Attorney Nellis stated he was running for the Probate Judge office. About a scant week or two later, coincidentally, Judge Raven announced his forthcoming retirement to the same office. Was there advance discussion and plans on this move? Behind the scenes and the backs of the public? Your Bet your sweet BIPPY there was! If it walks and quacks like a Duck.....lol. Special tip of the hat to John, Dulci, and Angela on this thread.
