I am in no way a criminal and there are alot of people that want him to win as a write in that are also in no way criminals,for you to even make such a statement is ridiculous (although it does sound like something Kim Cole would say are you sure your not him ?) It matters because I want a honest,decent man with a heart that cares for all of the people in the community !!! I do not want a man that is arrogant,self centered and thinks that he can harass people just because he has a badge !!! As far as money goes I bet no money came out of Mr. Coles JELLY JAR whenever there was a lawsuit against him for harassing the public...Whos JELLY JAR did that money come out of ??? So you see to some this up I did not try to friend anyone that was a Cole supporter nor did I try to enter into any of his groups,you see I belive to each there own everyone has their right to their own opinion..

Maybe because it wasn't Visiting Day, Chuck.  Seriously, however, I think most criminals would prefer not having someone like Jeff Fiers as sheriff, because if they were thrown in jail, they would have less money spent on their upkeep-- that $500,000 the sheriff has returned to the county due to having unused cells is $500,000 less being spent on inmates and their keepers. 

Voters can be attracted to Sheriff Fiers' humility, record, and political conservatism without being criminals.  As for dissing write-in votes, there is probably nothing more democratic (small 'd') or American than writing in a candidate for office when you have no other choice.

Still your just yelling. I want you to convince me to make the effort to write in. But you did agree that he has shorted the upkeep and safety of the facility by giving back monies. Please try harder to convince me to write in.

Who is yelling here lol you have started to sound even more ridiculous then you did before...Truth be known you really do not want to be convinced it is quite obvious that you are just here to rant and I have much better things to do with my time then explain my right to vote for who I know is the Best man for the job. I truly wish Chucky and his allies would read the archives of the Cole vs. Fiers (Sheriff's race) threads we had before and after the primary, (that would be last August-September). But, I would guess that simple task is over-stressing any newbie individual so "Cole programmed"against Fiers. We already showed many times that Fiers is consistent in spending less, acting with more humility, and addressing crime with the public sector programs that nip crime in the bud, not to mention not being overly pro-union. He also delegates authority, not exceeding his OWN authority. He's been a "true leader" in this important job, not a follower, like many past Sheriffs. Criminals you say Chucky? I would think any and all criminals are scared of any Sheriff, as they all pose the same problem to them, they get caught and convicted, and go to jail, and don't pass go. You simplify the entire matter with anger, which shows your criminal type behavior, force is not debate, it's intimidation, plain and simple. I give A. Baker credit for trying to debate you, but methinks it's useless to, it only encourages your continued and blatant attacks, and that isn't worth debating with imho. It's amazing how almost all liberals are "brainwashed in their own opinions & fixed agendas" and never willing to listen to any other train of thought. Conservatives and real adults debate ideas with objectivity, they can change their minds given the facts and history, not just spouting off to hear themselves speak, and do the debating with simple courtesy and respect.

In the upper corner there is a "search the ludington torch" box, which is quite helpful in navigating through our four years of archives.  Simply type the topic you are looking for and search.  If you put more than one searchword in it will look for content that has both words in.  Very helpful. 

As of this time, we do not have an archivist, so that will have to do.  We hope to be part of the new historic district that the City is trying to force on the populace so that we can afford one through grants.  NOT.

I believe criminals are NOT people! LOL I don't believe they should have ANY rights...the correct way to run the jail is to serve bread, water, and a fruit or vegetable at each meal and NO TVs and visitations ONCE per week for a half hour...just sayin'

If you worked in the jail, you would not think that. Take away all those things and you get WHAT???? Fights, Assults, Deaths,. Officers ALWAYS being attacked. These inmates have alot of time on thier hands now to think up enough. Why give them more time for so much more to think of. Criminals are still humans. Even if they commit a crime. MIchelle do you Drink?? have you ever been in an accident? You know if you ever are a cause of an accident or for some reason are to blame for an ACCIDENT.. You will do time in jail. IF you drink and dirve home. You WILL do time in jail. do you not want and tv?  They do only get ONE visit a week and well its for 20 mins.. They do get fruit or a veg at each meal. I SMall cup of Koolaide at lunch and dinner. That doesn't taste all that good And well the meals. They don't get all that much. So your right on that part. But you take away thier TV and you have them doing NOTHING. NOT A GOOD THING.  and well every human is a person. Michelle come and work the jail for a couple days and you really will change your mind about things. SOme are there because they just made a mistake..

We should care who our Sheriff is...I know I'm voting for the candidate who has integrity and honesty and who treats everyone the same, whether they have money or don't have money...I won't vote for a liar and someone who has so many skeletons in the closet, and someone who says "if I have a $100 I'm gonna spend $100." I want someone who cares about their budget, and sets a realistic budget, and follows the budget. I want someone who gets around the county and checks on everyone, no matter what walk of life they are in at the moment., someone I can trust to be there when I need him, and who will work for me and NOT work for whichever group has the most money or can give him the best "trades". I will be writing in "Jeff Fiers" for Sheriff on November 6. And yes, it is pretty pathetic someone is worried enough to try to be "friends" with people just to see how their campaigning is going. Why don't you just "ask" how it's going instead of trying to sneak around? We would be glad to tell you how well it's going and how confident we are in our Sheriff...

I can't argue with that testimonial, however, I would like to hear something from both candidates regarding the 'skeleton in the county's closet' by the name of Joseph McAdam and the use of force against him back in 2009 by three current deputies in the MCSO.
